Purple Belts: Compete to win $1000

Tournament Format:

16 man purple belt single elimination tournament gi tournament. There will be 2 divisions: Below 185 and above 185. Weighins are same day with the gi on. Full IBJJF rules and regulations enforced by IBJJF referee Alex Brandao.

I'm with ya! I would have been too. I would have expected it to fill up rather quickly as this is a large prize for the experience level. Many worlds medalists from out of town (Brazil) jumped at the opportunity to compete for money like that, but overall the signups are slow. Regional level competitors responded pretty poorly so I wont be doing other divisions + belts in the future unfortunately. Its an event where people tell you that they will do it, but when push comes to shove, they are not enthusiastic to sign up.
