Hi, my arms are too tired to barely do any pullups after I've benched.

Would it be okay for me to do pullups first? My lats aren't getting the workout they need.

Doing pullups before your bench will probably improve your bench workouts.

I've always heard to work out your biggest muscle group first. Your back is the bigger muscle group, so doing pullups first probably wouldn't hurt

Do what is important first. Assuming you're not doing O-lifts or plyometrics of course. Other than that, prioritize by putting what you want to improve on the most first. If you can barely do any pullups, do them more frequently.

Do you think I could do bench one day, then pullups 2 days later? Then Bench (or overhead press or whatever) again 2 days after that?

Personally i really like doing heavy pull ups before bench. Every PR in bench I set came in after a heavy weighted set of pull ups...

Be careful with too frequent pull up workouts as you can get a bad case of tendinitis.

Yes, weighted pullups and one arm pullup practice are pretty hard on the joints.

Didn't KW once mention that doing a row/pulling exercise before bench = good bench session ?

I usually do some static holds in the up position of a chin up to get better at activating my lats for the bench.

This thread has got me wanting to do pullups before benching now....

He advocated moderate to light Bent-over rows before a heavy bench session. Something that I practice since reading that.

training antagonizing muscles will make u perform better...

even some curls will make ur bench a bit easier than going in raw...

Hey man, What I suggest is not to worry about it. I had the same problem for a while and what I did was split my days up. Like:
Mon - Bench and ME Bench assis. and deadlifts.
Tues - Rest
Wed - Hit the back HARD and work some direct biceps (all the pulls will work them good, but a little more for good measure)
Thurs - Rest
Friday - Squats and DE Bench
Sat - Hit back Hard again

I did that for the longest time and not only did I gain mass I gain TONS of strength.
Goodluck man

I had the same problem when I would do chest and triceps on monday I was too sore to do pull ups.

so I switched it to Back, traps and biceps on Monday and tuesday I do bench, shoulders and triceps it works for me.

Antagonistic training. I do this from time to time, and though it is more common in bodybuilding workouts, I always felt stronger benching when mixing in some pull ups. This probably probably because of the increased blood flow to the torso and stabilizer muscles. I would do a set of pullups, rest a minute or two (long enough to catch my breath), then do a set of bench, repeating this five times. I honestly feel it helped in individual workouts as well as strengh development.
