A lot of serial killers were actually your perfect model citizen.

HH Holmes was one of them. He was charming, smart etc. All the women loved him. You rarely catch the best serial killers because they're so good at blending in with the normal crowd.

I would say yes as it could be someone with a medical condition or mental disorder. Charles Whitman is another example, “The Texas Tower Sniper” was a military veteran who tried to warn others he was not feeling well. Come to find out people were blaming him when he actually had a brain tumor.

I think the answer is yes, but it's a very complicated question.

I think things like mental illness and trauma can cause a 'good' person to do awful things. My ex girlfriend is actually a good example.

I think we can all find examples in our own lives where we did shitty things that we normally wouldn't have because of shitty circumstances.
