Damn.. I just threw my name in while I was grabbing groceries not expecting to get a call.

If your store isn't shifty I think it's a way better system than this online waiting list shit. So many times it fails at the last step after getting your hopes up.

online is useless unless they have some sort of system to stop bots otherwise it's a waste of time.

It's pretty dumb of then to not have a waiting list. They could ask for info like name and address. It would be an opportunity to gather more info of customers

Honestly your 100% right here. I'm kind of surprised they haven't done it just for the customer information a lone. People aren't going to be handing out fake emails for their Ps5 notification. The amount of people who will setup a new email just to avoid giving out their real one are far and few between.
 
Was pretty heart breaking today. Usually when Game are selling PS5s i get put in a queue with "more than an hour wait". Today i thought i got there early as the queue for the website was only 8 minutes. When i got through it kept timing out and not loading properly. I eventually managed to click on a PS5 and got introduced to the actual PS5 queue with "more than an hour wait".

At that point i knew my hopes were dashed and when i got a Telegram alert that they were selling again i got to enjoy another "more than an hour wait". I would've preferred to get kicked in the balls for "more than an hour" than have a lovely PS5 plucked from my hands.

Yup. Also I'd gladly give a $50 non-refundable deposit that goes toward the cost to hold my spot. They would basically be getting free money just to hold a spot for people.

Yea I'd do the same. EVGA did something like this for their videos cards I can't even imagine how many people gave up their info to get on the queue.

If every game actually makes its release date this makes for a pretty strong launch year. This might be the first year in a long time when I play as many console games as PC games.
 
There was a drop today on somewhere called shop.to but the website got 100% ass raped and is still recovering.

Yeah its a popular site that a lot of people use for game pre orders especially as normally people get them a couple of days early.

Smyths are supposedly getting some by the end of month so it might be worth keeping an eye on their website
 
Finished Demon's. It held up better than I expected. I think the game's biggest weakness is just that the bosses are basic when compared to the bosses in the games that followed.

The only boss I had to try more than twice was Flamelurker; I made pretty quick work out of him as soon as I remembered how I beat him before though. Personally, it seems easiest just to keep him in front of me. He's the one boss where trying to attack from the flanks gets me in trouble.

Obviously the Lion's share of the credit goes to From, but Bluepoint did excellent work.

Then I cracked out on Spiderman and didn't get any sleep. Personally, 60 fps mode is where it's at. The game does look nice on fidelity mode though.
 
What online stores should do (ie Walmart, Best Buy, Eb Games) is sell the systems for $1029.99 CAD (originally $629.99 CAD) and when you get out of the online store line, the website will give you a coupon for $400 off the PS5 that you can use at check out...this way sclapers who use bots will be paying an extra $400 for each PS5 they buy.

in theory, this would make scalpers stop using bots to buy up all the stock as they won't want to be buying it for $400 extra dollars.
 
Nephew's birthday is next month... I really hope I can score one at least before end of February for him.
I have Distill set up to watch both Best Buy and Amazon but I'm not feeling hopeful. I would camp at a store but I'm in Japan so I have to buy online and have it shipped.
 
@dezzy and whoever else in the UK. Currys website was just down for maintenance which i suspect might be in anticipation for a drop. Supposedly Currys, Amazon and Argos have around 40,000 units each that they will be releasing in waves this week.

Argos will probably do their usual dickish thing of handing them all to piece of shit scalpers in the early hours. Amazon and Currys tend to release during the day.
