Protein after BJJ

    I know, I know...seems like the wrong forum...

    But someone at my gym today told me I should wait 30-45 minutes after BJJ before I drink my shake to get better "muscle volumizing effects". BS?

    BS about "muscle volumizing" garbage, and even though you recognized this was the wrong forum, you couldn't click one more down? But yeah, nothing wrong with protein after BJJ. Throw some oatsMOTHERFUCKER in there too.

    I'd take it immediately after your Bjj session so that you can get some real food in 30-45 afterwards.

    And this is the wrong forum.

    Either way, I asked here because this forum has a lot of good advice as far as recovery is concerned.

    I even drink alittle milk with some whey before I go to jiu jitsu(or when i lift).
    You would think that would be hard on the stomch but it really isnt if you dont drink to much.
    I feel like it gives me some good long lasting energy.

    What about protein after a BJ? What's the consensus there? Sometimes, I just feel like I need to replenish.

    Well, since you've got all that protein in your mouth immediately after finishing the BJ, you might as well swallow.

    protein after bjj will DRAMATICALLY increase your recovery as compared to just drinking water or *gasp* not eating or drinking anything.

    I take the same thing after bjj that I take after every workout:

    Shake (60-90g):
    30% whey (hydrolyzed or isolate)
    70% WMS
    +5g creatine
    +5g bcaa
    +5g beta alanine
