Link to part two and parts one.

Had my third prostate surgery in 3 years. Recap:

1. Water Jet ablation. 2/23. Good results for a few months. One night in hospital. 2 days with catheter. Removed at office visit.

2. Greenlight laser. 12/23. Great results for a few months. Difficulty peeing returned especially at night but no pain in going. 2 days with catheter. Self removed

3. 'partial' TURP 1/26
Results so far are great. Have trepidation that it'll all happen again, but frankly there's not much prostate left so not sure how it could. I day with catheter. Self removed.

Stream is great. No pain. Still have to double void in some cases. Tbd if other functions still good to go.

Questions? Let me know.

Damn, good luck with it man

And it was purely due to enlarged prostate, no signs of anything else?

How old are you? Any ideas what caused your prostate issues?

How long did each of these procedures take? (Like is it a quick 45 min - 1.5 hour?)

After these procedures do they send you home with legit pain killer meds (opioids)? If not, how do you deal with the post op pain?

How do you rank the three procedures in terms of which one sucked the most and which sucked the least (or were they all about the same)? Why not just repeat the water jet or green laser?

Why not use different methods each time?

Problems really started in earnest in my early 40s, but I'm pretty sure I struggled with it even in my 30s. It's largely genetic and often something that just happens.

The procedures varied from 30-90 mine iirc. There's almost no pain other than the discomfort from the catheter. No pain meds. Lots of blood initially being passed in the urine but it subsided in each case with in 24 hrs.

Water Jet required the night in the hospital and the longest for me to recover my energy. My goal each time was to avoid a full turp because of risks to sexual function. Each surgery did a little something different.

Edit:. The worst part has been the sore throat from the intubation. Also this last time my lip got bruised from it as well.
