They were just talking about this on CNN. 54 private jets in all flew to a private island for billionaire CEOs for Apple, Google, etc.. and GOP members like Karl Rove to discuss how to stop Trump.

I can't find the video of the one I just saw on CNN on Youtube, but they did a good job summarizing what happened.I hope it gets uploaded on Youtube soon. It was hilarious.

I really wish I could find the video of Brooke Baldwin talking about it on CNN. It was so fucking funny. To me, anyway.

Honestly? If that's the case Trump must be doing something right...

All the leaders of the oligarchy on one island!!

Nows your chance Murka!! Nuke it!!

Stuff like this will end up having the opposite effect. Polls are saying that Romney's speech backfired. No one cares. Voters have already made up their minds a group of 50 rich douchebags trying to sway the election is going to have the same effect.

Sure it will.

They could fuck up the counts...you would never know.

I wonder if all this is giving trump some kind of messiah complex. Would be the worlds most hilarious turn of events if he turned out to be a great president.

Exactly correct. Trump supporters will support him NO MATTER WHAT.

Sounds to fucked up but if true.

He really should mention this and ramp up even more support.

I'm glad they got together before Trump started eating up delegates.

Don't get too excited just yet:

Billionaires, tech CEOs and top members of the Republican establishment flew to a private island resort off the coast of Georgia this weekend for the American Enterprise Institute's annual World Forum, according to sources familiar with the secretive gathering.

Philip Anschutz, the billionaire GOP donor whose company owns a stake in Sea Island, was also there, along with Democratic Rep. John Delaney, who represents Maryland. Arthur Sulzberger, the publisher of The New York Times, was there, too, a Times spokeswoman confirmed.

"A specter was haunting the World Forum--the specter of Donald Trump," Kristol wrote in an emailed report from the conference, borrowing the opening lines of the Communist Manifesto. "There was much unhappiness about his emergence, a good deal of talk, some of it insightful and thoughtful, about why he's done so well, and many expressions of hope that he would be defeated."

There discussing how to stop Trump, but this wasn't a special meeting about him. They have this every year.

WOW folks. They aren't even trying to hide it.

Screw ISIS, the enemy of the American people, just exposed themselves. Let's give them the same treatment. They are corporate terrorists.

Donald Trump is not the threat that these people are. They think they have a right to use their power to influence our elections. This is oligarchy folks!!

Well, they are arrogant, but I don't think they are arrogant enough to call it the, "Stop Trump, and interfere in the American elections forum".

AEI has held the annual forum on Sea Island for years. It's so secret that in 2015, Bloomberg News complained that no one would even say whether it had snowed.

Federal Aviation Administration records available on FlightAware.com show that a fleet of private jets flew into and out of two small airports near Sea Island this weekend. Fifty-four planes flew out of the airport on St. Simons Island, Georgia, on Sunday -- nearly four times as many as departed from the airport the previous Sunday.

So... you haven't previously looked into think tanks, advocacy groups (some crossover there) and their actions?

It's interesting reading. Quite the rabbit hole if you go back to the Mont Pelerin Society, Antony Fisher and the Atlas Network (Manhattan Institute etc), through to the State Policy Network (representing a strategy of localisation), Heartland etc.

Everything from Astroturfing the Tea Party, to muddying the waters on Climate Change. It's not like they are just using all these wealthy backers for celebrity endorsements...

That would be stupid. The last thing Trump should do is to go to war against the super rich. He aint gonna win this. his best play would be make deals with these people and play the game until he gets in. Even then he should slowly, but surely do changes. Trump cant get elected if the super rich corporations all unite against him
