Privacy Fence cost

No privacy security fence. It keeps the neighbors and intruders out - very expensive:

Wood or chain link?
I paid $1,500 for a 30 yard (90 feet) wood fence 5 years ago. The fence has a height of 6 feet.
Why do you need it to be 8 feet high? That will make it more expensive. Not the standard height.

Go with the metal posts to hold the wood fence. .

Lookin for 8ft because we are on a slope. Neighbor is "lower" than us. So a 6 ft fence becomes 4.5 ft fence from each others patio.

Metal post for sure. My wood ones are really warped.

Good luck with an 8 foot wood fence when the wind starts blowing. You can get the 8' wood pickets.
I'm guessing that 100 feet of an 8' high wood fence with metal posts would probably run close to $5,000. That includes labor, transportation, and parts. You are probably going to be charged more for being on a slope. Depends on your state and the company you pick to put up the fence.

Got one of those 6 foot Cedar Fences. Cost about average to NY Rent Check.
If I could do it again would def put a gate on both sides of house for ease of access

There's no point fences only last 5 years tops anyway

I’m having a fence put up soon. The guy is having a hard time getting the material though because of covid .. guess he’s a few jobs backed up . Is $4100 all together ..vinyl, 6 feet high .

Cedar..

I'm being told that only 'imported Cedar" is available currently... whatever that means.

I got a quote for 3800 and i was like... huh?

The US imports a lot of wood from Canada. I was getting quotes towards the beginning of covid so that’s why they were so high. Lowest quote was from a friend of a friend.

Still hasn’t been put up though so it’s probably going to have to wait till next spring.

Costs have gone up significantly in the last 6 months.

I used to be able to get PVC panels for $72 per from my supplier, they now stock them at $110 per.

I've since switched suppliers for PVC, because no one in my area wants to spend that much. Little further of a drive for materials, but if it secures me the job it's worth it.

We did a standard privacy fence with 2 gates back in 2008 on our first house. I just measured the aerial view and it looks like roughly 125 feet in length. We hired a fencing company and I believe it was around $2,500.00.
