Potentially the greatest MW on the planet.
Ok good that's what I remembered. Roy diving for takedowns and JDS just uppercutting the shit out of himI have no idea what he is talking about, JDS beat the hell out of him.
What do you mean, not an athlete? Big Country regularly completed 3+ 5mins rounds whilst weighing 265lbs. Just because he didn’t look like Yoel Romero does NOT make him not an athlete. Under your assessment, I guess WSM athletes don’t meet your approval eitherRoy was a big waste of potential. Never really had a prime since he was never dedicated enough to be an athlete and get himself in shape. Yeah I know he still had success but imagine if he had been dedicated to strength and conditioning? Dude could have been a MW or LHW top contender. Maybe even champ.
he literally has a nacho cheese dispenser in his home kitchenProbably the best chin I have ever seen. Hunt might have stopped him, but I think Nelson’s chin was even better. I liked Roy. In a lot of of his fights he would either knock someone dead or take a hellacious beating. He could have been better with more dedication. Daner seemed to hate him.
WSM! Worlds Strongest Man? You’re putting Roy in with those guys? Roy is the fucking opposite of those guys. What do you mean, not an athlete? He was a top tier HW in the UFC for a considerable time, and a considerable draw.WSM! Worlds Strongest Man? You’re putting Roy in with those guys? Roy is the fucking opposite of those guys.
Roy is a fighter with natural talent and toughness. He was not a dedicated athlete.
What does his ability to draw have to do with this conversation? He was a top tier HW in the UFC for a considerable time, and a considerable draw.
this. he went on an exciting run but he was much better when he still utilized his grappling on a regular basis. It's kind of like dan henderson, he was fun to watch when he started the whole h bomb thing but he was probably a better fighter when he was decision danImo, Roy's prime was when he was a champ in the IFL
He also caught JDS with a flush overhand right and he didn't even flinch. and JDS rocked Roy several times so I am m not sure how he is the harder puncher either.
No kidding. The cliche of "fell in love with the KO" fits both of them.this. he went on an exciting run but he was much better when he still utilized his grappling on a regular basis. It's one of those fights I've watched multiple times because I'm a huge JDS fan and like you said it was a straight up beatdown lolLOL the first post made me have a laugh as well.
Dos Santos cracked Roy and legit sent him somersaulting back around the Octagon. Dos Santos beat the brakes off Roy, who basically showed off how good he is at taking punishment.
