- Beat Fedor
- Made overeem tap to strikes
- Never lost a point in ADCC

Respect. War Brazilian Tiger

Forever linked to a Rampage power bomb. His life may have turned out completely different if not for that one KO. Im sure the gif is coming soon.

Got soccer kicked to death.

His style was perfect for the cage. Maybe boring as F but would have been champ in his prime

Just saw a few recent pics of him he is in decent shape

I watched a lot of PRIDE FC DVDs and he was boring. I don't recall him doing any "holy shit" type stuff. The Rampage slam was done to him.

i remember him having some of the most awesome low kicks, and weirdly stiff punching technique.

A great name from the past...

But he was as stiff and upright as me watching videos of Remy LaCroix.

Arona was great, but according to ring rules, he lost to Fedor, And in a «real» mma fight, Fedor beats him up.

A very good grappler, And extremely strong, but I never understand why Arona suddenly has male fans, that praises him? He was one of the most hated fighters in pride, And only liked by some for his abs.

So I want to Ask his «fans» And TS: Why do you like Arona?

There´s no "real" MMA fight. Every org has/had its idea about it, and tries to focus on a ruleset that would satisfy its fans.

If you listened to Sergio Batarelli (ex IVC promotor) back in the days, the current UFC is a joke compared to the ol´school NHB/Vale Tudo...

On a sidenote, the judges scored it: Draw-Arona-Draw which led to an additional final round... Tough fight to score.

Tough fight to score, sure, And different rules in all orgs, but Rings scoring And no strikes on the ground was so different that if we call it mma, we might as well mix in Sambo records.

I actually believe that it was indeed MMA, since the submission game got a deeper meaning.

But obviously, this was no Vale Tudo/NHB.
