Prime Peter Aerts vs Prime Ernesto Hoost

So, when it comes to GOAT discussion, and I think GOAT in sense of the real world, not p4p sense, it comes to Hoost, Aerts, and Schilts.

And since I don't like Semmy Schilts, it comes down to Hoost and Aerts for me.

So here's the thing. Hoost beat Aerts 4 out of 6. But, didn't Aerts beat Schilts 3 out of 5?(or was it 2 out of 5). And isn't Hoost 0 out of 2 against Schilts?

So Hoost - Aerts 4 to 2(Hoost)

Schilts- Aerts 2 to 3(Aerts? Not sure about this one)

Who is a better kick boxer in their absolute primes? It looks like Aerts had a better career by hair.

The last 2 fights are as relevant as Tito v Chuck III.

In the 5th fight Aerts was doing commentary and was a literal last minute replacement for Bob Sapp who chickened out. Aerts had a few beers in him and didn't even have his gear. He had to borrow shorts from Schilt! It was a glorified exhibition at best.

I always felt Aerts is the greatest heavyweight ever, sure he has some bad loses but Ernesto has worse loses. And Aerts beating Semmy yrs past his best was amazing shame he had nothing left and Reem smashed him straight after. Even gave Rico a competitive fight like 20 yrs past his best.

I'd say that Hoost wasn't a true heavyweight in terms of size though. He would probably have been a light heavyweight if not a middleweight if they had more divisions back then. Most of his losses in K-1 were to bigger guys like Le Banner, Aerts, Bonjasky, Schilt, Greco, etc.

Fighting guys taller and heavier is never easy. That's also part of the reason why he got overpowered by huge Bob Sapp.
