Muhammad Ali for me
These modern heavyweights are big but not great, other than usyk who is great

Fury got knocked over by steve cunningham and had to fight dirty. He also arguably lost to an mma guy making his debut

Joshua got smashed by a fat guy on short notice and beat like a drunk by a poor man's bruno in Dubois

Ali has actually losses, but not in his prime which he was robbed of for 3 years. He also beat much higher calibre of fighters and also won a gold medal but on his first attempt

Usyk has had like a dozen real fights as a pro and Ali has many more world title defences and beat some all time greats. 2 guys who are in pretty much everyone's all time heavyweight list and another beast like Liston

Usyk is very skilled, but much of it has to to with his stamina. Ali had insane stamina and heart and fought 15 round wars against killers

He's too fast and unorthodox and I think he gets the win on points

we never seen prime Ali. Prison has robbed him of his potential

you just have to give it time and let the chips fall, 15 years ago, the KK bros were the greatest, 10 years ago, Fury was, then wilder, now usyk.

All you gotta do is win a big fight and people are asking if so and so can beat hagler and monzon and duran after the dust settles that talk has died down for the guys we've had for the last few years.
Yeah, as great as Usyk is and as much as i admire him, it is too early to assess where he stands all time. He isnt even retired yet!
He's awesome but he doesnt have a lot of variance in opposition at heavyweight, even though he fought the best aside from his first fight. That could hurt him in the long run, possibly. If he beats 1-2 more different guys then retires, his legacy will be stronger. He does have being undisputed going for him, which is rare nowadays.

we'll have to just give it time. Even Ali and Louis had to do that. Ali wasn't rated like he is today in 1975.

he didn't? i thought he did because of refusing going to Vietnam war.
he was convicted, but never served. the supreme court overturned his conviction.

he was denied a licence for 3 years and stripped of his title. couldn't box, so you're right on that part, definitely missed 3 years of his prime. just never actually went to prison.

yup, lots of people still think he went to prison. Ali only did one stint in jail I believe and it had nothing to do with the draft, motherfucker had no driving license I think. Spent about a week in the can, didn't care for it.
