Ruas would probably be a LHW. He could kick better and probably defend subs better, but his "champion boxing" pedigree was never validated and so I think he gets beat by another guy with decent hands and substantially more size and power.

Marco Rua was a well rounded top fighter in his day who would not suffer at all based on most MMA fighters also being more rounded.

He was tops amongst his peers then in athleticism, toughness, skill and would be so today. Someone like Ngannou is a risk to any fighter due to his huge power but if Marco could avoid it and tire him like Stipe did he could win. If he got caught he would lose.

Remember that top guys like him back then faced many mostly one dimensional power punching guys. That is not something that is new to this age and that is really the threat Ngannou poses because even though he is more cross trained than yesteryears power punchers he is not going to anything different unless forced to.
