Prime Koscheck vs Khabib ?

That actually would be a good fight and I think the wrestling would cancel each other out. Kos was more diverse with his striking before GSP beat him a 2nd time but I think Khabib is heavier handed. I would love to see that match up.
Power isn't even close. Kos 1-shot KO'ed someone. Has Khabib even hurt a single person standing? I don't think so.

As long as Khabib avoids getting his ass motorboated in the grappling exchanges I like his odds.

I like Kos's chances

Prime Fitch I think is probably still a better strict wrestler but he would lose the fight

Lol we arent in 2008 anymore, MMA has moved on. Kos gets humiliated

Koscheck threw down with Rumble, while Khabib is insecure fighting above 155 lbs.

Kos wins the stand-up, Kos has solid wrestling defense and the size advantage. Kos would be my betting favorite.
There is a reason why GSP didn't waste time trying to wrestle Koscheck and just out struck him, Khabib can't emulate that.

Koschek was pretty good in his day....but, c'mon.

Khabib beats kos and is p4p better than anyone kos has ever fought

Khabib subs him. The real underrated "what if" fight would be khabib vs shields imo.

I think I was one of the few big Koscheck fan's back in the day but this would be a very tough fight for him. Over the last few years Khabib has done a nice job developing a great jab and that was the single strike that really gave Kos trouble against GSP. Although Kos would have the power edge on the feet, I think Khabib would jab him up in route to taking him to the fence and ultimately getting him on the ground. From there I think it would be just like so many of his previous fights with him grinding for a win. The only thing I think would be different over his last few wins is I could see it going to a decision.

As long as Khabib avoids getting his ass motorboated in the grappling exchanges I like his odds.
He would beat prime Koscheck, then why wasn't he fighting at welterweight from January 2012-2020 when he came to the UFC? Lol

It's funny that I got quoted for my joke shitpost in the first place. That being said...

Sherdog's obsession with Khabib's entire legacy being a lie because he chose to become a GOAT at Lightweight instead of arbitrarily pulling an RDA when he had no reason to do so is just goddamn bizarre to me, frankly. I'm not even a Khabib fan. @Peli, have you noticed this phenomena as much as I have?

What the fuck are you on about? Entire legacy a lie? Frankly. Phenomena. Lol

Do you object to the wording? Do I need to rephrase it for you? Here: it's just a particular brand of stupid I've seen spouted pretty consistently on Sherdog and apparently you also subscribe to it. Why should Khabib choose to fight at Welterweight in the timespan chosen? He was dominant at Lightweight.

Nobody said his legacy is a lie.

Khabib fought at 170 lbs before entering the UFC. Chose to move down to 155lbs when he came to the UFC. Put himself through all those tough weight cuts, where he missed weight multiple times, and was even hospitalized, possibly taking years off his life.

This isn't somebody who likes his chances against guys that size.

He started his career at Lightweight and flip-flopped between the two weight classes repeatedly. He and his camp have stated repeatedly that his primary issues were with nutrition and got largely sorted after hiring a dedicated nutritionist.

Fighters move between divisions all the time. I'm far more inclined to believe that -- having fought at both weights and with his nutrition getting ironed out -- he settled on 155 knowing he could be dominant there (or possibly felt it was his most optimal weight class [I hesitate to use "natural" because that has so many connotations] of the two performance-wise) rather than the narrative of "Khabib is a weight bully who's a natural 170er and drains himself to Holocaust levels to make Lightweight and is ducking Usman!"

Furthermore, I'm not saying Khabib would be as dominant at Welterweight as he was at 155, especially at the beginning of his career. He'd probably pick up at least a loss or two, maybe more. But RDA was able to win a number of fights in the division and compete for the interim title in a surprisingly competitive bout against Colby of all people. But I digress: Koscheck -- even in his prime -- is not someone I see being able to impose his will on Khabib in a consistent manner. I could see it being somewhat competitive early on with Josh holding his own far better than many of Khabib's previous opponents, however.

GSP outwrestled Koscheck.
I don't think khabib could and Koscheck outstruck and subbed Rumble who was about 450lbs in the cage.

Khabib is better than Kos everywhere.
