Prime Hendricks who arguably beat GSP

Khabib is a beast but he didn't fought a guy like Prime Hendricks

prime hendricks is for me the only ww who can beat gsp and khabib

he was a monster and a nightmare stylisticaly for everybody

Pre USADA Johnny was a huge WW whose walk around weight was 220. Yes I expect that Johnny to beat Khabib just based off TD defense and beating him on the feet especially in a 3 round fight.

But I will say this, Khabib can engage a grappling heavy plan, wear Johnny down in a 5 round fight and proceed to sub a gassed Johnny in the championship rounds. Like Rumble vs DC 2. Rumble won the first round via wrestling against DC but in the process basically burnt his tank completely out and had nothing for DC in the second.

I wouldn't be surprised if either guy won honestly. Post USADA Johnny, even if he's 185, is getting waxed by Khabib.
 
Maybe he would have beat Khabib but he didn't beat their common opponent and Khabib did.

USADA beat him like a rented mule.
 
Khabib would beat any version of GSP post Serra. I think pre serra gsp was a much better fighter but I still see khabib smeshing him to oblivion.

I'm not saying he was on roids but it's fight that GSP wanted volunteer testing and the waters were muddy. Then USADA came and Hendericks couldn't beat a middle tier fight after almost beating GSP. Him and Barao are the most suspicious drop offs after USADA. You could argue that Barao lost his invincibility but still.

theres no way that the same johnny hendricks that knocked out fitch wouldnt send khabib's 155 lb ass flying across the cage with that left hook or uppercut

I think title fight Lawler would have destroyed Khabib. What’s left of Lawler wouldn’t stand a chance, but Lawler out wrestled prime Hendricks and turned him into a crotch sniffer. Khabib would have done better but 5th round Lawler takes Khabib out late due to being bigger and badder.

Let me preface this with I haven't watched those 2 fights in a while but I remember thinking he lost the 1st fight and thought he won the second, exact opposite of what the judges saw each of those nights. Maybe after kids are in bed and I'm done putting presents under the tree I'll rewatch them while finishing my 8th or 9 bourbon.
 
Hendricks has nothing for Khabib other than a fluke overhand right. The lighter weight divisions, WW-below, have evolved at a rapid pace.

khabib would grind Hendricks down, expose his stamina issues and finish him shortly after it gets to the mat

yeah I don't know much about Hendricks, care to enlighten me why you speak so highly of him when he got destroyed so easilyi by WB and Costa? I havent seen his fight with GSP but seen his face after, not sure how Hendricks lost that one.

You might be right but I would argue that Lawler didn't outwrestle Hendricks and Hendrick's didn't outwrestle GSP. They mostly negated what was thought to be their opponents greatest asset in the fight. However, I think Khabib's wrestling is better (certainly much more persistant/successful) than Hendricks. I see Hendricks being able to defend khabib better than Lawler would. I wouldn't be mad either way. Two my favorites.
 
Honestly speaking prime Hendricks was such a great fighter and imho he belongs to my all time top 10 GOAT-list. I really dislike the fact that prime Big Rigg is still underrated somehow.. He was such a beast and all rounded he had everything from power, wrestling, grappling, striking.
