Roided Sapp back in the day was a scary dude, Hoost put a beatdown on him and lose. Sadly the guy didn't give a single fuck about fighting, he just wanted money.

A classic example of mental rather than physical prime, Sapp a force at the very start of his career and showed a lot of toughness walking though tons of punishment to beat Hoost. When Crocop broke his face though he seemed to release just how badly he could get hurt and went into "cringer" mode as soon as someone started landing decent shots on him.

Prime Bob Sapp (juiced to the gills) is basically unstoppable in a standup fight. I'm not joking either.

Exactly, in those first fights he really wasn't afraid but then just mentally never recover.

Absolutely. Those fights against Hoost were insane. Sapp showed tremendous heart.
I think he's a pretty intelligent dude and realizes taking unnecessary punishment is not worth it.

I have to agree. I've watched plenty of his old kickboxing bouts, and Sapp's punches literally look like he's drilling his fist through his opponent's head, with the way there's absoloutely no resistance hindering it's movement until it comes to the end of it's trajectory.
The mental image of Sapp almost bending Hoost's body into 2 fucking halves by repeatedly launching those nuclear 1-2's at his head, effectively molding Hoost into the shape of the letter C leaning against the ropes... Damn. It's a damn good example of superior physical dimensions and massive power advantage triumphing over elite level technique. That's what Sapp could provide at his peak, which is impressive (and extremely interesting to watch, atleast for me).
