This was done to death back in the day. But it's now 2017 and i wonder which org u still prefer to watch out of the big 2.

Every time I watch pride I remember how much better it was that UFC ever was.

PRIDE had it all. Soccer kicks/stomps, the fighters, etc. was great times.

Pride was special.........every UFC card feels and looks the same, kind of boring.....Pride was unique, real art......if those goofs hadn't bought and shut Pride down, MMA would already be bigger than soccer..........

This thread will basically be an anti-UFC circle jerk for Pride.

With that said, I voted Pride :)

You like throwing rocks at wasp nests don't you.

In before mad people posting about drug testing and fixed fights.

Now everyone is realising trying add too much structure to two men fighting in a cage can turn things stale.

Pride was a magic time when the rules were still being written and fantasy fights became reality.

That was THEN and this is NOW.I am notalgic, and all BS...,but take it or leave it.The best guys are here and that's it

Old school UFC, voted Pride tho.

I wish I could create tournament after tournament with this field of fighters. I'm stating at it now, pondering all of the matchups.

Vitor vs. Rampage
Igor vs. Wanderlei
Shogun vs. Vitor/Igor
Arona vs. Randleman

I wish Chuck, Randy and Tito would've fought in the tournament in place of Noon or Yoon (whatever his name was) Nakamura and Lister.

Pride had the true warrior spirit

UFC has that douchbag/meathead feel to it

For me UFC feels like the status quo. Pride felt like the Olympics. Maybe not top to bottom roster wise but the scale, the giant arenas, the pageantry, etc. I know there were some flaws but I enjoyed even the most idiosyncratic Pride elements. The freak shows. Seeing the heart of the Japanese fighters. So many things.

I know die hard UFC elitists will always shit on Pride as being too flamboyant or due to the Yakuza connection or the questionable/fixed fights (Coleman/Takada for example) but I voted Pride because it was more unique and I have fonder memories of Pride than I do of the UFC. They knew how to make things magical. I know that sounds cliche but it was just a special time and I consider myself lucky to have appreciated it enough as I did.

Newer fans will never know. No matter how much they watch it on Fight Pass. If you weren't knee deep in MMA back then you missed the reality of it all. The rivalries. The implications and gravity of each fight. There will never be another Pride. Dream tried (valiantly), RIZIN is trying rather oddly but admirably but no organization will have the same level of spectacularity that Pride brought to the table.
