WASHINGTON — President Trump on Monday demanded drug companies make their data on the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines available to the public, suggesting that the “question” over whether the jab actually saved lives has “ripped apart” the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“It is very important that the Drug Companies justify the success of their various Covid Drugs. Many people think they are a miracle that saved Millions of lives. Others disagree! With CDC being ripped apart over this question, I want the answer, and I want it NOW,” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post.

“I have been shown information from Pfizer, and others, that is extraordinary, but they never seem to show those results to the public. Why not??? They go off to the next ‘hunt’ and let everyone rip themselves apart, including Bobby Kennedy Jr. and CDC, trying to figure out the success or failure of the Drug Companies Covid work.”

In 2020, the first Trump administration rolled out Operation Warp Speed, which expedited research, testing and approval of COVID vaccines as the pandemic ravaged the country during the presidential election year.

At least 70% of Americans have received both jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine as of 2025 — with over 711 million doses of the vaccine having been administered in the US, per the World Health Organization.

But the COVID shots, administered by Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, were also criticized as early as 2021 for not preventing breakthrough infections, meaning some who received the vaccine still got the virus.

So it looks like Trump wants the drug companies to release the data behind the covid vaccine. It's funny when operation warp speed in motion the left acted like Trump was making it out of his basement. Fast forward to Biden and now the right don't believe in the covid vaccine and the left is on board. Depending on the data will it change your view of the covid vaccine and mRNA vaccines? I think he sees this as his legacy which is why hes doing this. Congress has epstein stuff and Garland to testify. That is what it is. It may not help him with the anti-vaccine conservative crew

Nice but think the credit goes to the first with the idea of the vaccine and using mRNA. Katalin Kariko and Drew Weissman at U Penn came up with the idea and made it happen. The companies then just licensed it for the final versions they had. They got the Nobel Prize in 2023. Trump pushing to get it out as quickly as it did was impressive though

That statement was 100% to garner favor from Trump and by extension RFK and the CDC. And the last I checked Trump has not lowered the cost of anything, much less drugs. No sense in arguing about it, though, it's not provable either way.

He's just been talking about it lately. Pfizer may have some drug they're ready to roll out and need help with approval or something. That I can't say.

I think ultimately the vaccines were the right thing to do, ultimately though nothing outright prevented repeat infection due to how quickly new strains kept popping up that we weren't protected against.

If anything it should prove the herd immunity crowd were the most wrong of anyone.

The right didn't believe in vaccines from the beginning, it's one of the few things they push back on when it comes to Trump.

I don't really care either way about the data personally but I don't think this will change the minds of vaccine skeptics, if they cared about data they would not be vaccine skeptics.
