I'm guessing darkside movement will be a little bit more restrained in their predictions next pre season too

lol
Most United fans had them finishing 3rd or 4th. Hardly an out of touch prediction.

You're going off the rails here. No one said that this was a great season; and every United fan on here has acknowledged that performances were underwhelming and that United need to improve significantly this summer.

I said it was successful in comparison to Spurs, City, Pool, and Arsenal. You've got your stock entirely in the league and Champions League, and that's fine--I just don't agree.

Calling the season an "unmitigated disaster," though when they're actually in a better position than Liverpool and Spurs for Europe next season is a huge exaggeration. The Moyes season was an unmitigated disaster. This season was sub-par by Fergie standards and an overall improvement on the entire post-Fergie era.

Just gone back to see Blokey swinging hay makers. Agree with most of you post, but don't get the bolded part.

Due to UEFA co-efficients, United are in a better pot for the Champions League draw. Liverpool haven't qualified yet, and Tottenham are in pot 3 (though they can get bumped up if Napoli and Sevilla fail to qualify).

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW POTS

Seeded (confirmed): Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Benfica, Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk, Monaco, Spartak Moscow

Pot 2 (provisional): Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla*, Man City, FC Porto, Man United

Pot 3 (provisional): Napoli*, Tottenham, FC Basel, Dynamo Kiev*, Ajax*, Olympiakos*, Anderlecht, Liverpool*

Pot 4: All other qualifying clubs, which could include Roma*, RB Leipzig, Celtic*, Nice* and Feyenoord

Ahhhh. I thought there might be a technical reason I didn't know about. I initially thought you were saying that you were better equipped than them.

Nah, United have more work to do this summer than the others.

Another £200m needed imo
It's a joke, but probably the reality. If Zlatan and Rooney both go, and both need to be replaced with top players. They've also sold Morgan, Basti, and Memphis and didn't replace them. Young is likely off, and Carrick is up there in age (for a professional player!). Fellaini and Lingard arent good enough to be starting an elite team, and United need a starting CB.

Add all that together and factor in the United tax, and I won't be surprised in the least to see them come close or exceed the £200M mark.
