A lot of Argentina fans seem to treat him like shit as well. They did only lose him for one game. If it was at the start of the tournament would they have won? I was really impressed with their defence but the rules kind of saved them in the groups.

Quite honestly Argentinian fans don't deserve him. If he declared for Spain(rightfully could've living there since he was 12) he'd have the WC and multiple Euro champ medals on him and his overall outlook would be different, simply because of his "nationality".

They are in World Cup Qualifying now. Top 4 get automatic bid and 5th gets a playoff, which they should win. With him they easily qualify, without him they don't. This shitty team is plain and simple.

Not singing the national anthem sounds like way more of a fan gripe than a media one. He also had Xavi and iniesta at their best for most of his career at Barca and it's easier to gel with people you play with every week. A lot of Argentina games aren't really on my time frame and I must settle for Ireland labouring to 1-0 wins over Kazakhstan instead of having a footballing genius to cheer on. Lots of national heroes are divisive figures too.
