That was no different to any Rangnick performance. What an absolute shitshow. Goes to show - you cannot polish a turd, and our squad is brimming with them.

DDG - meh, whatever.

DEFENCE - Dalot is not a PL footballer, but he can pass better than Wan-Bissaka so starts. I'd play AWB every time, personally. Maguire, clumsy, unreliable, as usual. Shaw, not terrible, but not great. Martinez - extremely worrying. Lad is smaller than me. He looks good on the ball, good passer, incisive, and he's tenacious but his size is ALWAYS gonna hold him back in this league. Malacia was too aggro when he came on, too pumped up, fair enough.

MIDFIELD - We don't have one. I'm not even gonna address them.

Eriksen was okay. Fernandes was abysmal. Sancho even worse (Im now actually finally wondering if we've been sold a dud, here).

Rashford is fucking abysmal and outside of 18months in his entire first team career, has been abysmal. Absolute con artist of a 'footballer'.

Ronaldo, meh, whatever. DVDB, barely noticed him.

We're bidding for Arnautovic. That link was underwhelming in 2016. It's 2022. He plays for Bologna and he's 33. I can't believe this is real life.


If I'm ETH, I'm making a snap decision - tell De Jong to go fuck himself, and tell Barca to pay his wages or pull another lever.

100m - throw it at an attacker and (I know) another CB. I would go for a big, strong, fast, young CB and I would play Martinez as CDM all season and see what happens. He's got the passing and the defensive nous, he just haven't the size or physicality to be a CB for us. If that fails next summer - go all in on a CDM, sell another couple of CB's.

I know I’m complaining about United having to turn to academy players, but I think Garnacho would have been better than Rashford. Unfortunately, United will not find any takers for him on his wages.

The first half showed Ronaldo is not the major problem here.

Martinez didn’t look great and probably should have given away a penalty. Maguire’s positioning was bad again. Shaw and Dalot weren’t good either.

McTominay/Fred pairing is just astonishing at this point. Eriksen looked bad pushed forward but much better when he was pulled deeper (probably because his comparison was McFred).

I don’t know what to think on Sancho. Hard to be a playmaker when you’re surrounded by garbage. He looked a bit better when Ronaldo came on, but certainly not even to the level of a £50M player.

Rashford is probably gonna get a new contract soon, and that highlights just how badly we are run. He wouldnt get in the Brighton team - he's an awful, awful footballer and I've said this for about 2 years now. He's a kick and run merchant who can do nothing else. He's not even skillful. No trickery, nothing. I've really started disliking him in general as well, rightly or wrongly.

Sancho - I don't know what type of playmaker he's supposed to be, that's the problem. He's certainly not a pacey wide player. He's not gifted enough to be a slower, Mata-type incisive playmaker either. I honestly struggle to see what his true ability is.

ETH is fucked man. This squad is still terrible, and at the very best he gets 1 more new signing this season. I think his neck will be on the line by spring, genuinely. They can't play his style of football, they don't have the talent or adaptability. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose to Brentford next weekend, 3-2 or something. I see no improvement at all.

I don’t know if I’ve ever hated a player (who actually plays regular minutes) more than Mctominay. Hope he gets a weber c fracture diving in late for a tackle for the 1000th time so I don’t have to see him jogging back after losing the ball for the 1000th time

My expectations are already low so I’m not surprised at all, just tired of seeing the same shitty players and barely doing anything to change that despite having the funds to do it. Doesn’t matter who the manager is some players will just not improve. It’s the textbook definition of insanity

They've given ETH Fred/McTominay as the starting midfield pairing again, despite them failing 2-3 previous managers. He's been hung out to dry already mate. This isn't kneejerk - this is the same team we've seen for 3 seasons, failing every single time. Nothing has changed. The style of football looked no different either. Absolutely dreading this season, its gonna be worse than last season because I at least had 'some' optimism this time, unlike last season. I can see a huge run of losses after the first few games are done, we've got a savage fixture list.

I know it sounds crazy, but I still think Fred can be a decent squad player if he wasn’t paired with McTominay.
