Nah, ten Hag didn’t come off as arrogant in that presser at all. He was asked whether any team could ever win the Premier League while Klopp and Guardiola were still coaching in the Premier League. He compliments them but states the obvious—that an era can always come to an end. He didn’t come in and declare that their eras were over and even admitted that United was a project. The sensationalized headline made that comment out to be something it wasn’t.Given his proclamation that Liverpool and City's era was coming to an end with his arrival, I am not sure this guy is as grounded as you think. That said, I think he thought he was getting a better recruitment than has wound up happening especially de Jong
No way he figured it would happen in 1 transfer window, but I can’t imagine he thought recruitment would be this dismal. I don’t think ten Hag has his hands entirely clean here, though it’s tough to tell how he’s being handcuffed by the higher ups.
