It honestly feels like sabotage. You don't sign / try to sign two known wankers and troublemakers to a squad apparently going through a cleansing of such characters and a 'cultural reboot'.

We needed a CB and the chosen signing is 5ft 6in tall. It's like we're deliberately doing the worst possible move in each scenario this summer.

True, I'm becoming more and more indifferent though. On Saturday, I briefly considered skipping yday's game as I couldn't be arsed but then had that 'fuck, 1st game of the new seaosn, new manager, couple new players' vibe and tuned in, only to see what looked like Ole's or Rangnick's United team, yet again. Then 24hrs later, we're on the verge of signing fucking Rabiot and Arnautovic - I'm sure, at a push, Rabiot might have been in our top 5 choices for CM. 5th, maybe.

But I can guarantee that Arnautovic wasn't in the top 100.

Reports saying it was done for 20M now :eek: maybe he didn't want to join us as we would have been all over him for that price.

Frenkie probably won’t come at this point, but media is not shying away from the opportunity to take shots at United.

And they deserve every single one of them.

Was reading an article a year or so ago about United’s transfers.

Apparantly in the Ferguson/ Gil days there was an old boy’s club mentality where everyone got on well, went out for dinner and drinks etc, and there was a jovial atmosphere when business was done.

With Woodward and whoever else, everyone thought he was an arsehole, and an abrasive, arrogant banker who thought he was better than football…..hence why no one did him any favours.

The hypothesized in the Fergie days, Kane would have 200 appearances for United by now, Haaland and Bellingham would have been snapped up etc etc.

growing up you guys were THE team we all hated

our schools were all divided as Arsenal v Man U lol.

Only way we can get rid of the suits is to hit rock bottom first….. can’t be too far away, surely.

Have we ever gone 2 successive years out the CL? That could do it.

Chelsea went for 4bn right? Wonder if United would go for less? Idea would have been laughable 5 years ago.

Surely a bid for Bellingham is worth making at this point? You’re going to get taken to the cleaners, but it’s not like they’re spending money elsewhere anyways.
