That happened in 1999 in the WC on US soil. Before that they won gold in the Olympics on US soil in 1996. Mia Hamm had a commercial with Michael Jordan in 1997. This moment is the height of the fame of the USWNT. Lots of momentum lead to that bra pose. Stuff that cant be replicated

The domestic league built on the 90's died and another crappy league that nobody cares about replaced it.

Brandy Chastain is now 54 years old and complaining about pay discrimination, due mainly to USWNT members not having a reliable domestic league and having to make their money all through the USWNT.

If anything, it went backwards.

Maybe it will be different in Europe
