I think when it gets to the point of not having won one of the big two trophies(League/CL) in awhile a win like the one in 2014 is big time, but when you are winning league titles and CL's it may not mean quite as much. If it is between two massive clubs like Barca/RM then it is like bonus points over the other one to win it.

Trust me, Chelsea fans wanted it badly last year, despite the fact that they had just won the league.

As you should, mate. People who don't get excited about their team winning a cup shouldn't bother watching. I was at the final last year and it was great. Families there together, kids loving the day out and eveyone just excited. Surely that's what football should be about?

Also helped that we beat Chelski for it.
remember that day you, me, mum, uncle Charlie and auntie Betty all went to Selhurst Park and saw us get that nil, nil draw, that cemented 4th place....happy days......

I still think Domestic League is as big as anything because through 38 matches it removes almost any possible luck and all the teams play each other the same. It's not like some CL winners who have had easy routes to the Final *Cough*Madrid in 2016*cough* and a tougher route to the Final (Barca 2015, Madrid 2017)

I guess it is subjective.

I've made this point before and got ....but, but, but......dress it up anyway you want, its a knockout tournament, the best side doesn't always win.

Yup.

Have said it before winning the CL and the Domestic title in the same season is the ultimate, especially when the domestic title is fiercely contested.

I got flamed for saying it before, but the likes of Liverpool / Chelsea winning it when finishing 5th / 6th in the PREM takes away the gloss, imo. Like Portugal winning Euro2016.

By and large a deserving team does win it 90% of the time though.

I've been flamed for it too, I also mentioned, while it was their right as English Champions, Villa were Crowned Champions of European a matter of days after finishing 11th in the league.

Remember that great season in 2016/17 when we put the pressure on? I only wish Grandad was still with us to witness it - Spurs Fan

Yeah, though I think it is fair to distinguish between the old European Cup and the current Champions League which are completely different competitions.

I can't remember the exact stats, but of the CL winners in the last 20 years, something like 65% would have not even been in the competition in it's original format.

When we won it in 2014 it felt huge because it was our first trophy in fucking ages, but now it's meh. For a little team it's everything, but for Arsenal, we should be challenging for the Big Boy trophies.

When we won the Emirates FA Cup in 2014?

Our first trophy in fucking ages?

For Arsenal FC, we should be challenging for other titles?

I thought that you were a fan of Tottenham Hotspur.

That's why I posted a few images of Tottenham Hotspur kits one time.

The next thing that you will tell me is that you are a fan of Liverpool FC and/or Manchester City (whichever one advances in the UEFA Champions League).

not really a check up, my elbow has doubled in size and is filled wih fluid. Ignored it for the last week but it's starting to get painful now.

How about winning it but finishing 2nd or 3rd? I personally wouldn't care where we finished, but I definitely get where you're coming from. It would reek of "they got lucky" if you finished too low in the league. A bit like Wigan winning the FA Cup and getting relegated.

To win the league tells you how consistent your team is, to keep the focus against the not so good teams.
To win the CL tells you how great your team is when at it's best.

Two different things really. In the CL you go up against the best of the best. In the league you have to stay sharp over a longer period and more matches.

Their is obviously levels to it.

Whenever you can rest players in the league to concentrate on Europe, it's a massive advantage.......whether that's because you are 20 points ahead or 20 points behind.

You could argue it works the other way, too. As a United fan, always felt we were best when fighting on all fronts with massive games twice a week to keep momentum and desire at an optimal ie 1999 and 2008.

is this related to your fall or a wanking injury
