However, I have to question a thread being called the "Premier League thread" if the next 10-20 years consist of more clubs from Europe obliterating the 20 clubs in the Premier League.

Most likely, I say the word "Football" more often than you do.

I have lived in USA my entire life.

That is the only reason that I always say both words at the same time.

I always call the discipline "Football soccer."

I call the OTHER one "NFL Football."

Football soccer is much older than NFL football.

If I am not mistaken, the discipline of NFL Football ("gridiron football") started in the early 1900's.
