In reference to the "top 4" phenomena, it has nothing to do with how big a club is.......it's just, to me, an annoying thing that has cropped up in recent years. Like how assists have suddenly become a big thing or the January transfer window.

Yeah I'm just saying that for a smaller club the 60-70m € from the CL are a huge deal and therefore it is a "success" for them. They understand that you can work with and improve the team with the money and prestige that you get from being in the CL. I mean I haven't seen anyone actually celebrate the CL qualification except for really small time clubs. :D

January window annoys me as well. As for assists I don't mind, obviously the passing that leads to goals is very important. :D

99% sure assists only became a thing because of Fantasy Football........can't remember anyone using the term before about 1998.

No idea! The commentators and statistics suddenly started talking about it / included it more and more. Wait until they count secondary assists like in hockey. :P

I don't know what is more impressive on the Almeria-Sevilla match. The excitement of the announcer or the fact that Jesus Navas sent a cross in the box that led to a goal.
