Is the Premier League a better competition than the CL?

You can debate EPL and La Liga all day but there's no debate about this. The CL is magical at times. Everyone loves a good tournament. It's why playoffs are the best time in any sport here in the US. March Madness college basketball is huge also.
I personally dislike play offs, straight knockout is ok,but playing a season and then losing out to team who just scrape in is bullshit IMO.

Chelsea and Liverpool both won the CL whilst finishing outside the top 5 in the PREM........
Like ive said, i can understand both sides of the question, and of course the fluctuation of the teams quality varies from year to year and it has to be applied to the equation.
Good examples of that atm are Chelsea and Leicester.
But im not sure if my english is incorrect or if its you who´s not reading correctly.
Imo the PL is the most competitive football league, but the CL is more difficult to win, cause its the competition between the best teams.
If you ask me which competition is harder to win, competition between the best PL teams, or the competition between the best PL teams + Barça, Real, Bayern, Juve ... ? My answer is obvious.
Of course, and like youve pointed out, there are allways exceptions to the rules, but you dont see the teams sparing their players for the home competitions, when they have CL matches, do you?

Yeah people have been swayed by these last 5-6 years with Bayern, Real and Barcelona so far ahead.......from about 1994-2008 it was a lot more unpredictable.
CL is massive now & is growing at a crazy rate over here.

My Mrs called me up from her break room yesterday & it was fn nuts in the background. They've a tv in there & it was crammed with young white collar lads cheering Barca on after victory. I got booed for watching the Dortmund game.

Sounded like a pub lol

Erm, 5-4-1?????

Odd selection.

Order a Dortmund kit imo :P

And yeah this Super League will probably not happen anytime soon :D

I do understand the appeal, and I do like the CL, but it is just a cup competition. Kinda like the Euros and World Cup at international level..........you could probably play the tournament 10 times and get a different winner each time (or at least every other time).

I like test cricket too, so I'm obviously a sucker though!

Barca's comeback last night was the best I've seen, maybe Dortmund vs Malaga in 2013 where BvB scored two stoppage time goals to get through was as good and dramatic in recent years.

Love how you work cross field balls into quick low crosses right back in to Auba. You do it faster than Buyern.

Start of the season you shit a brick when he was playing, and laughed when he was in my FUT team lmao

That's really a strenght and a great weapon. High crosses are imo lower percentage these days because most teams have CBs that are strong at headers.

He was injured for the first 10 games (so not sure where "start of the season comes from) then he plays against Buyern and we win. Coincidence? :p

To be fair I always said that I liked him, but Tuchel had this weird obsession with him last year already and played him no matter how weak he was. Then it looked like he does the same this year. But Durm turned it around quickly and showed his potential and strenghts. Perfect position for him too, Schmelzer had an assist yesterday as well but was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy weaker than Durm.

Wonder how good he could be if he wasn't injured for almost several years now. :(

Very true, and Real won the CL yet it was Barça who won La Liga.
But in your opinion, do you think City would prefer playing Real in the semis , or last year´s Chelsea or even Arsenal ?
Its a fun discussion, but kinda pointless nonetheless ... and its ok to agree on disagreeing :)

My point echoes Lewis's. In cup competitions the best team doesn't always win it. City werent close to being the 4th best side in Europe last year. They were only the 4th best side in England. On goal difference lol

Whereas the best team always wins the Lg
