But in serious DIRE has me fucking FUMING. The guy is not a quality football player. Missed 2 or 3 open header sitters. I have no idea what coaches see in him. I assume he practices hard, doesn't buy flashy shit so they think he brings something. They're wrong.

VAR also fucked us. It's been a conspiracy since they gave us that Covid DQ for no god damn reason last year.

Went to Whitby - York City this evening in the 2nd round of the North Riding Senior Cup. We've won the NRSC 7 times before but York have won it 11. The attendance was 361. There was a group of York fans that got really rowdy towards the end. York play in the National League North, which is tier 6, whereas Whitby play in the Northern Premier League, which is tier 8. So I was apprehensive but Whitby played well, a big improvement on last time out and got a goal early in each half.

The first one was a lovely shot into the top corner from just inside the box. We had a free kick from just outside the box which went high again and several near misses. The passing was crisp and the movement up the field was incisive. Good result for the lads and that's the 2nd cup game we've won at home this season although we are still on 0 home points in the league!

Good to see Liverpool win by three away and they are through to the last 16 but the Spurs result is underwhelming . Still they only need a draw at Marseille next time out. Which I think they are pretty safe to get, even though they haven't being doing so well lately. The Scottish team got wupped again. Rangers are on 0 points with a GD of -18.

Teams that are through
Napoli
Liverpool
Brugge
Porto
Real Madrid
PSG
Benfica
Bayern Munich
Inter Milan
Chelsea
Man City
Borussia Dortmund

Are they already through?

Mental to think their best player missed the first 3 games.

Osimhen is gonna go for 100m+ in the summer.
They have just about win the group now mate and they are the top goal scorers in the CL groups and the Serie A top as well .Liverpool need to beat Napoli in the last game by more than 3 goals to win the group .If it went to goal difference Liverpool would need to beat Napoli by 7 .

It's Brazil.......they are always going to be top 5 favourites. 2002 being no exception with a shit load of the players you listed for 98 and 06 also in their primes or near to it.

Trust United to sign the only dud in Kleberson!

I'm pretty sure the WC is set up so any 2 teams can potentially meet in the final.......though for Argentina/Brazil it may depend on one not winning their group.

This time you'd put Brazil up there with, imo, France Argentina, and Spain as the favourites, but not the clear favourites that a lot of pundits seem to think. It's actually quite an open tournament on reflection. Likes of Germany, Portugal, England, Holland etc all have enough talent where if everything comes together they could all have a good run in them.

Fact is international football is wank. Mediocre teams (on paper) often upset far better teams. Look at Croatia last time......got to the final by being very average and scraping by other average teams (on penalties x2, and extra time).

Yeah, 2002 Brazil had tons of stars but struggled as a team. They finished 3rd in South American qualifiers and were 3 points away from having to go to the playoff!

And yeah, one of Brazil or Argentina would have finish 2nd for them to meet in the final. But the chances of THAT happening are razor thin. Aside from 2002, I can't remember the last time either didn't win their group.

And Croatia may have been the weakest finalist in half a century, imo. Up there with 2002 Germany.

Argentina finished 2nd in their group last time (to Croatia funnily enough) and they needed a last minute winner in their last game to get that.
