I miss that little Spanish genius. Let's be real, if Chelsea had 3 of their top mids out, they'd struggle too. I have no idea who we'll play in mid against them. We're down to Coq, Ox (who has limited experience there) and Maitland-Niles who's never started a prem game.
That's fair but one thing you shouldn't be struggling with no matter who is on the pitch is workrate. Not like Watford have personal to outclass you, when effort and hustle is what is beating you the personnel excuse loses weight.

Like lets say Bayern dominate your midfield just by sheer talent, then it's fair to say

He's pretty much done for the season
Fuck, didnt know was hoping he will make it for the Chelsea game. Like CW said, Arsenal is fucked against Chelsea most likely. No real cm's (that can defend).

We didn't get an extra mid, we just played Alexis up top, moved Iwobi to the left (where he's more comfortable) and put Theo out wide right. Alexis was brought into the game and led from the front. Much better link up with Iwobi and Ozil and that's why we created 4 or 5 goal scoring opportunities in the first 20 or so minutes in the 2nd.

Asking this in the most unantagonising way possible (honestly, as I don't feel up for a Blokey/Ceedubb showdown today), did you watch the whole game live or just the highlights? I know there were other bigger games on, so it's completely possible.

I'd rather we play Alexis than switch our whole system to accommodate Giroud. We haven't played with a big man up top since Alan Smith (smudger bless) and I prefer fast football.
Yeah, I watched the whole game. Not highlights.

A false 9 drops back deeper into midfield to avoid markers & link play up. Hence my 'gave you an extra midfielder' comment. Alexis didn't lead from the front he played the false 9. Very effectively & got you back into the game. So effectively that he spent a large portion of the 2nd half in the final 3rd.

Taking Giroud off was the right call. As i'd already said.

Iwobi had better success than Alexis on the wing because Alexis supported him better in the half space link up play than what Iwobi had for him in the 1st half. Bringing Feo on helped free Ozil up in the half spaces too.

Currently, with the 4th string cm's you have available, Alexis in the false 9 is a better option than starting Oliver.

If you don't play a system best suited to your CF. Good luck tryna get anymore than 16 goals a season out of him.

It's not an excuse, it's a reason. Of course it plays a part. A massive part. If Chelsea lose Kante, Cesc and Matic and have to play X and Y in mid, they're losing class that can overcome work rate.

Yesterday was a shit show, no excuse for that, but there's no doubt that your best players can play you out of tough spots.

In regards to yesterday it's hardly applicable imo, with how the whole team played that 1st half it wouldn't have mattered who was in the middle of the park. Maybe in that 2nd half.

Only until "oh shit" panic mode did anyone look hungry.

Maybe I'm being harsh, just hate when seeing players not putting in the effort

Spurs have dropped 4pts in last 2gms just from losing 1 starter, Verts.

Pool have dropped 7pts since losing Mane to the AFCON.

Arsenal are at a huge disadvantage having 3 starters, 2 back ups missing & having to field 4th string CM's.

Lmao so infuriating. Still remember when you got it and was like nooo don't do it. I only played 3 hours then quit.

Quit bloodborne too after I kept getting brain sucked and permanently lost a bunch of intellect things.
i still have the game. £45 down the tube lmao

Lmao ffs. I don't mind challenging games but you have to be like Uber focused to the point where you aren't chillin and playing games you're just tense and sweaty AF, then I cannot invest
