Trump's whole campaign for building a wall was predicated on Mexico paying for it.

Cooperate tax-reform plan the House Republicans are planning, the border-adjustment, will literally force Mexico to give us every penny for the wall and then some.

I know you know nothing about this because you only read headlines.

Here's an excerpt from Martin Feldstein, top economist

"the border adjustment would raise hundreds of billions in tax revenue — not from U.S. consumers or corporations, but from our foreign trading partners. Under the border adjustment, the United States would refund the tax on exports and charge it on imports — so the net revenue would be negative if we had a trade surplus, and positive if we had a trade deficit. Because the United States has a trade deficit, Feldstein calculates the border adjustment would bring in about $120 billion a year, or $1 trillion over a decade."

No one in their right mind actually believed Mexico was just going to cut us a check.

Maybe you should do what some of your newly redneck American brethren do and educate yourself.

In b4 "Racist fat redneck Trump supporting retard"

Mexico was never gonna outright pay for anything. It's a roundabout way to technically say they had to help the US fund it.

I'm asking if you are ok with Trump spending the reported 30bn on building it?
Sorry, thought you were referencing my post.

I've seen a lot of numbers tossed around--were these recently released bids?

Personally, I don't think a wall is going to solve the problem, but I'm willing to see how it plays out before getting riled up. On the surface, it seems like a lot; but down the road, will his overall cracking down on illegal immigration save on tax dollar losses on illegals? Will Mexico cave and chip in? Will renegotiated deals with Mexico bring in the extra funds? Only time will be able to answer the questions I have, but I'm certainly hoping for the best.

Ultimately, though, I'll judge him on how he turns things around here in the US. Despite him being an egotistical douche, I do like hearing our leader talk about fixing America's problems before worrying about the rest of the world. If things are booming, deficit is reduced, better jobs open up in the US, people are saving more money on taxes, etc., I'll be much more OK with his policies and spending.

I would just like to take this moment to laugh at a regular prem thread poster who reported another prem thread poster over nothing!
