I always want your two cents
With the bow & arrow choke, there is a moment where you know they are trying to bow & arrow you. When someone gets that sinister collar grab around your neck, and then swings around to reach for your knee, you know what they are doing. That is a big moment, it kind of hangs in the air. In this moment, I do two things which (knock on wood) have kept me out of bow & arrows successfully for years. #1: Wiggle-worm like a motherfucker, violently, down to the floor, moving your body to stay exactly parallel on top of them as much as possible. Butt goes to the floor, sliding down & forward along the floor as dramatically as possible, and the body tries to follow as much as you can, while also following their spin as much as possible, to stay directly in a straight line with them as much as you can. #2: A lot of people when getting bow & arrowed worry about their neck in that moment, how deep the neck grip is sunk in there, trying to chin-tuck after the fact, hand-fight, etc. Forget about the neck. It was their first grip, & it's probably good. Focus on the knee grip. They need that knee grip to finish you, or they should, if you are doing step #1. So if they get a hold of your knee, grab their sleeve and kick your leg out, while also shoving their sleeve away. Don't try to fight the neck grip, just break that knee grip at all costs, so you can stay parallel / right on top of them and sink down / wiggle-worm down to the floor. Related note: don't even 'turn into the choke' or anything, don't worry about turning your head to any side, focus on sinking your body down at all costs, so the *back* of your head will actually leave the chokehold first.
If you do those 2 things, sink down as much as possible & keep him off your knee, then unless you have a real Roger Gracie motherfucker or a specialist on you, most of the time you will break their bow & arrow. Hope that made any sense
