1-0 to Citeh o_O Haaland

That's his 50th Premier League goal

He has broken record after record since arriving in England and now, just 48 games into his Premier League career, he has smashed a record held by Andy Cole for some 28 years for the fewest games needed to reach 50 goals.

Playing for a dominant City side, Haaland needed 17 games fewer than any other player in the history of the competition to reach his Premier League half-century.

No player has reached 10 goals (six games), 20 goals (14 games), 30 goals (27 games) or 40 goals (39 games) in fewer appearances than the Norwegian, while Haaland’s 36-goal tally in the 2022-23 Premier League campaign – his first in England – broke the record for the most goals in a single Premier League season.

@650lb Sumo Match report: I just got home from our football ground and watched a 2:0 win of my hometown club(which I played for from 6-8) against a team from the other side of the lake. NO yellow cards were handed out which is a bit unusual in these lower leagues :D and overall a solid performance especially as there were a couple of starters missing due to injuries. Some actual kids had the opportunity to jump in(which made me feel old). Watched the game with 2 old friends and one of them is still playing in our reserve. The attendance was roughly 250 I think and it was really fuckin freezing, we even had light snowfall at times during the 2nd half  funny afternoon and finally could catch a game again here, the win was of course a nice bonus. My club is sitting comfy at 5th which is alright - one more game before the winter break which ends in Feb.

Congrats on the good results today! Very interesting! I used to go skiing around there. I also got one of these today:

Good to see both teams high up the tables.

Arsenal gonna win the leagueeeeeeeee

Brighton have two clean sheet wins in their last two Europa League games. Apart from those their last competitive clean sheet was a 0 - 3 win at the Emirates in May.

Cardiff snatched a win from the jaws of defeat with goals in the 96th and 99th minutes! Leeds vs Swansea on Wednesday.

Interestingly Luton are now out of the drop zone with a win over Crystal Palace. This weekend was/is matchday 13. After 13 games in their nightmare season of 07 - 08 Derby County were bottom on 6 points, with a GD of -28. If we ignore Everton, because they were deducted ten points, currently Burnley and Sheffield United are worse than that on four and five points, although their GDs aren't as bad.

Good result for the Toon today to get us back to winning ways, ready for PSG away on Tuesday.

I went to Whitby vs Workington this afternoon. The attendance was 493. The game was quite a slugfest with both teams penetrating their opponents' defence and getting some shots off. Whitby also had loads of corners, however the standard of finishing was poor from both sides. Both goalies did have to make saves however and our goalie Shane Bland did well. The back and forth attacking went on for a while with neither side able to consolidate, hold possession and apply consistent pressure.

Whitby did have the upper hand though and eventually got a penalty in the 77th minute, which we scored. One of the Workington defenders might have been lucky to only get a yellow for pulling down our striker when he was otherwise through on goal (outside the box):

A player, substitute or substituted player who commits any of the following offences is sent off:
  • denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent whose overall movement is towards the offender's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick

We also had a long shot hit the bar in the 90th minute, but then almost immediately Workington broke through and scored against the run of play. I was hoping for a better result today. With that being said, not counting the FA Cup Whitby have only lost one of our last seven games and ninth in the table isn't bad.

Predictions

Spurs 2 - 1 Aston Villa
Everton 0 - 1 Man United

Lancaster City 1 - 1 Whitby

@lsa @isa hello friend, didn’t see you here on caturday. How was your day and any bets over the weekend?

FC Somers v Uruguayan NYSC
FT 2-1

Highlights and timestamps for those who dont wanna watch an hour and a half of U14 Soccer lol

19:25 1-0 GOAL! Somers
31:53 1-1 GOAL! UNYSC
42:10 Yellow Card
54:00 Yellow Card x 2
55:00 Offside Call?
58:42 Yellow Card Off Camera
1:05:18 Yellow Card (Jayden)
1:07:25 Yellow Card
1:08:46 2-1 GOAL! Somers
1:08:55 Straight Red for berating AR and Center Ref
1:11:26 Yellow Card Dissent

Like I said, I've never seen so many bookings in a youth game before. 2 bookings against us. 6 for them. Ref let the game get out of hand. But we finish our Group stages undefeated with 9 points! Round of 16 starts in April. Time to get to work!
