Sanchez had to go. He was a cancer. Lukaku for all his faults read the room & demanded leaving this mess behind in his rearview mirror. I can't fault him for that.

Ole being unable to persuade him into staying a bit longer is a red flag. Considering Pogba actually has the talent level RL thinks he has and wants to leave.

Got sucked back into the fan channels a week or 2 back, and Howson suggested we should have gotten someone like Mandzukic in just for the extra body. Even said bringing back Welbeck, Hernandez or Zlatan would be better than nothing.

I've been vocal about how I hate those type of transfers, but after some thought his argument was quite convincing. Probably would have served us better than a big money panic buy like Icardi or Dybala and would certainly be better than nothing.

Again the fact we got to the start of the season in that position was total incompetence



Took our worst squad in 30 years, got rid of 7, whilst another 3 (at least) needed taken behind the shed with a shot gun......and replaced them with 2 kids and a half decent CB (who have all had decent starts, to be fair).

Should be the kind of player you can pick up pretty cheap and short term, but it never seems to be an option.
