He's not the man for the job, I agree, but even someone like Ancelloti or Klopp would struggle with this squad.

As you say, it is a decent squad. Everton and Leicester also have decent squads. We lose one player and we have to completely transform the way we play. Pathetic.

Spent 250m, and squad is barely any better than when he took over, imo.

Sell Lukaku for 75m. Don't replace him. Panic sign Ighalo on last day of next window. He is shit. Panic sign 47 year old Cavani on last day of next window. Continue to struggle in front of goal.

Biggest club in the world. <Lmaoo>

Klopp would have your squad playing wayyyyyy better. The pieces are there, they’ve just been made to look worse than they are and don’t believe in the manager anymore.

United are allegedly one of the biggest clubs in world football, yet we are in a position where we can't cope when only one player (Martial in this case) is unavailable.

If we lost more than one of Martial, Rashford, Pogba and Bruno for any length of time we are really fucked.....and even with all fit, you can't rely on any of them being consistent over a season (except them being consistently inconsistent).

Too early to write him off but Cavani looks like Ighalo v2.0, to me.

Honestly thought Arsenal were crap, too. Crap + 3 points > crap + 0 points, I guess. Think come May both teams will be battling Wolves, Everton and Leicester as opposed Pool and City (and maybe Spurs).
I don’t expect anything from Cavani, he hasn’t done anything the last two years. You sign one guy who is still getting settled in (needs to play more though, I like Pogba but he was absolute garbage vs Spurs and Arsenal) one guy who played one game and then got covid, and two kids who aren’t going to contribute right away. Expecting anything different is some tremendous optimism. Agree with Arsenal as well, they’re in the bottom third of the league in shots which is pretty poor for a team of that caliber. They have some good things going but have zero creativity and can’t get their forwards the ball.

Yeah, but this has been going on for several years now.

Reason the new signings haven't done much is because of the horrendous transfer policy.

It should be evolution not revolution.

give him a window and 3 signings and he could get you close enough.

You’ve got top quality players, imo. Defence is questionable (awb aside) and the balance in midfield seems off.

If Jose or even Ole had gotten 3 signings they wanted, they'd probably have a shout, too. Add a few of Haaland, Sancho, de Ligt, Upamancano, Grealish, Reguilon, Chiesa, Koulibaly, Thiago, Dybala etc etc to the squad instead of Ighalo, Cavani and Dan James we'd probably be better off ;).

Klopp's obviously very good, but his (or Pool's DoF) success rate in the TM is likely unsustainable long term.

VAR supposed to overrule clear and obvious mistake. The ref was standing right there for the foul. They’re now analyzing the rotation of the ball to see if his foot did or didn’t nick the ball.

I don’t think it has to be that great because they have the foundations. They can be around 33% success with signings and still be doing well for the next 4 years. Don’t have to make any major marquee signings in the near future either and that’s where other clubs have been fucking up.

i’ll stop now. All of this Liverpool praise is making me feel queasy.

Surely this is inaccurate? It felt like he gave the ball away nearly every time touched it.
