exactly. that's the worst place to be in sports. Middle of the road. Not good enough to compete for a title and not bad enough to get a top draft pick to select franchise changing players. Time to bottom out now. Hate wasting Sid's last few years like this, but can't trade him because he's the 2nd greatest player in the franchise's history. those last couple years of Rutherford trading away picks for decent but not game changing p layers has crippled them in the short term. The rebuild should've started 2 years ago.

I agree with Che that this is really tough for Sid. It is similar to the overall situation really, can't trade him but keeping him would also waste his last years.

Pretty sure some team wouldn't mind trading a lot for him, he likely won't fall off completely either until the deal is over.

We say that now but if they manage to trade Malkin and Letang for draft picks who knows if they end up with next francise center, elite dman and great goalie.
Abit like Blackhawks did with Dach, Debrincat (change him to a dman of same calibre) and Lankinen.

Goalies take a while, but of course they could hit a few homeruns with picks, never know!

Of course. In fact that was when Chules great great grandfather was banned from the forums. The legend goes that he was just posting some 1900s British folk band videos when an unnamed troll posted “NewtonHeath.jpg” after a 2-0 loss (very high score line at the time) and he became unhinged, typing in gibberish and posting Victorian era smut for the world to see. In this era of tough men and lack of women’s rights, this was not even a warning, but when he started to threaten people with his brand new Lee-Enfield rifle it became apparent he needed a timeout
