The US hosted Copa America in 2016 without issue that I can recall, not to mention all the US sports and multiple international games and tournaments.

Yeah I remember it went off well. However, I think this edition might be more highly anticipated and attended. A lot of sell outs, especially for any Argentina match. Colombia has also had a huge following. Throw in this might be the GOAT's last match with Argentina there's a lot of desire to get to this Final, especially over the 2016 one(which still sold out) So mixing those together kinda led to tonights situation. The incident after the Colombia-Uruguay match was really bad and they dropped the ball on that one, should've never happened or ever happen.
