This guy has a very flashy style and initially I was impressed with him but the more I've watched him the more I've become convinced he's going to top out around the middle of the division or slightly about that spot.

Firstly, this fight, people are going to hype him up but his opponent Fili used bad tactics throughout the fight. For some reason in rd 2 he refused to jump into Yair's guard. This was just dumb.

Then he stayed right in kicking range a lot of the fight and did a very poor job at capitalizing on Yair's mistakes when he gave up his back in rd 2. He was far too hesitant.

Next, he rubbed his eye right before the finishing sequence which leads me to believe he got poked in the eye and couldn't see the move coming.

To add to that, so far he's been far more athletically gifted then his opponents. That gap will decrease as he rise in the ranks as will his opponents fight IQ's. If I'm wrong I will eat crow but I just don't see him being champ.

I hope you're wrong. I like him more than I have a lot of the recent champions, for whatever reason. Not just his fighting style. He just seems humble and hungry.

You're right. Solid fundamentals beat flashiness every time. Frankie Edgar vs Cub Swanson on your heads.

Getting your hate in early eh? I can almost hespect that. Almost.

He is a Top-3 prospect in a great division. Unfortunately for him that is the same division as Mirsad Bektic.

I thought there was an eye poke to but I watched again and he didn't get poked in the eye. It was a punch.

I love how you are talking about him as a fighter TODAY and that leads you to the conclusion that he will never be Champ...You do realize that fighters evolve right? Especially a 23 year old.
One thing is for sure, he has phenomenal potential.
