I welcome this. I like the idea of the Predator being in different position like on some weird planet or fighting native americans. I would think it cool to have one fighting in medevil times, during WW2 against allies and nazis, or in ancient samurai Japan. I don't really give a shit about cannon as much as just wanting interesting scenario movies. I really liked Prey and I think my only gripe was the lead turning into some sort of super human during fighting scenes but whatever. I'll roll with it if it maintains the logic in the story. I don't need all the movie to link together in some well though out cannon or how the stories relates to the Alien stories.

Absolute dud... awful characters. Marines that looked like Garbage Pail Kids. Cheesy dialog. Shane Black shit the bed.
I said it somewhere else on here years ago.

They should have gotten Michael B Jordan as Carl Weathers son. Have him working a Spec Ops team or CIA trying to find what happened to his old man.

Have a new predator arrive. His team gets killed, but he gets spared somehow or survives as a rescue shows up and drives off the predator,he gets sent to a black site and meets Arnold’s Dutch. Who is either a prisoner or had a team and busts him out.

They and a small team hunt the new predator while Arnold tells him the truth about what happened to his old man.

This would have been the way to do it! Michael B Jordan is a great actor and he would have hit a home run

Bad ass... like how do these slobs fuck up something with so much potential?? The forced comedy was so cringe. tried way too hard to be crass

Mortal Kombat 95 kinda laid the blue print for how to sucessfully adapt a "Rated R" IP into a PG-13 format. A seemingly impossible task but they pulled it off

The Shang Tsung soul snatching, the Scorpion Cage fight with the lava blood and skull getting sliced in half, the Goro montage of bodies just getting flung across the arena, Reptile turning into a pile of insects Halloween 3 style...
Even Kano got his neck broken.

The only weak death is Sub Zero dying via huge icicle.

I remember being pissed about the very lack of insanely gory fatalities that got me into the franchise in the first place....

What'd you think of the most recent one? They upped the gore, but fucked almost everything else up

So PG-13?

Regardless I’ll pass based on the trailer. Prey was okay but I don’t understand everybody circle jerking it like it was amazing. Same with Alien: Romulus.

Romulus gets a tug because (from what i can tell) it went back to a standard formula, after the backlash/letdown for Covenant & Prometheus (and alien 3, Alien 4/resurrection, AvP, etc)

As much as I hated the characters in Prometheus, it was a fun ride.

Covenant was rushed and boring.
Cgi was flimsy. Cut out storylines.

Romulus i expected to fully hate and shit on it,
because i hate "remakes" with different directors,
But Alien is a history of people taking ideas from Jodorowsky, Dan O'Bannon, and Giger with their own perspectives. In the end, Romulus was far better than a lot of crap the past decade. So I think that's why it gets a tug.

Even Alien:Earth is surprisingly decent with the whole alien vibe... Despite (once again) god awful character ideas. Like adult kids as synths/robots & casting Tim Eyebrow Actor Olyphant. Apparently they legit told him he's a robot and not to move his eyebrows. Which he is notorious for acting with eyebrows. Still it was a fun ride.

Prey was mildly entertaining, i honestly cannot remember liking or hating it, so it must be okay.

Never been able to stomach the Alien / Predator crossover. It seemed a cool idea in high school, but just devalued both franchises personally.
Alien and Predator have just as many bad takes as good ones. OG versions hold up.

Romulus was OK. It was def an improvement over the past few Alien movies, which isnt saying that much, but still. At least moving in the right direction.

That would be an accurate summary..

Outside of Scorpion and Sub Zero...everyone kinda sucked.

And they did Goro so dirty...

Shane Black did more than shit the bed. Dude BETRAYED us and the franchise.
