Badlands didn't need to be because the violence and "gore" was satisfactory enough. I was surprised at some of the carnage they got away with.

The reason why they could get away with a lot of the violence and gore is because it was mainly directed towards aliens, monsters and robots.

I know Predator 2 is very revered by many in here but that's just my opinion. That has always been my opinion from the first time I've watched Predator 2 in 1990 and the subsequent repeat viewings over the years. I even rewatched it earlier this year.

I just bought my ticket to go see it tomorrow in IMAX 3D.

My only petty complaint, without even having seen it yet, is that Elle Fanning's synth character gets the whole lower half of her body destroyed, when I've only recently found out that she has apparently been carrying a whole damn bakery around all this time and nobody told me!

In my defense, the argument can be made that when you are dealing with genre movies like this, Grade A - Eye Candy® is cast to put the backsides of viewers who would otherwise wouldn’t be persuaded by more rational arguments about the quality of the film itself on theater seats.

In that light, rather than derailing, the audiovisual aid encourages engagement from that target audience.

I'm gonna cave and go see it. I maintain that it looks like the Transformers or Fast and Furious of Predator movies but like the proverbial feline, my curiosity - especially with our Lord Dragon's blessing - is going to get the better of me.
