He is the only player to have played over a thousand English league games (1,005) and has the most England caps ever (125). He also scored a goal. There can't be many people to have played > 23 top flight seasons, unless you go back to like 1904 or something perhaps.

I know Stanley Matthews played until he was like 50.......

Edit: (according to wiki) he played 25 years in top flight, which includes missing 6 years of his prime years due to WW2.

Ryan Giggs also played 24 seasons in the top league, but technically only 22 in the Prem after the 93 rebranding.
