Sorry, just want to vent out on my son’s soccer season. In the game this past weekend one of the kids (probably our main goal scorer) got a red card. He plays aggressively, especially when fighting for a ball. Anyway he hit a hat trick so the other team was really putting pressure on him. He ended up trying to go for the ball, but instead swiped the other players legs. Ref gave him a yellow card. Some of the parents of the other team went on the field and after about 2 minutes he goes back to the kid and gives him a red card. WTF? He did nothing in between that time. On top of that the ref is a high school kid that plays for the same club as the team we were up against. Now he is suspended for 2 games from the league and our club has the option to add more suspension days on top of that (I highly doubt it). I find that excessive for something that wasn't blantantly intentional. The appealing process is a joke and the only possible one that could help requires taping of the entire game. We don’t have that, but the other team recorded it (doubt they would give us a copy). Anyway I just find all of this just ridiculous. They were obviously influenced by the parents and its possible for bias being from the same club.
Anyway not a huge deal since our team is pretty stacked with good strikers/shooters. Technically a lot of our kids are on the roster for 2 teams (2015s and 2014s) so the coach may be able to “suspend” him from 2 games in one shot. This would be ideal since the match he could miss may be the deciding factor on who wins the league bracket. Sorry rant over lol.
