Pre-Izzy Paulo Costa hype train was real

Khamzat receiving the same treatment...if not more cuz Costs actually fought and beat past champions Nd top contenders....

Meanwhile peoples undies are sticky cuz khamzat beat Li and Meershart easily ....

If Costa's hype train was the most bloated...i dont even know what you call khamzats LOL

Fair call but say he manages to stop Burns in under a round, especially if he submits him, the hype train's going to be fecking massive. Costa's fat ass couldn't even get on a train these days, last fight was an absolute joke the way he acted, glad Marvin won.

Only interesting thing regarding Costa is if the UFC will actually force him to stay at LHW going forward. He's getting battered if so, otherwise he'll end up at best a gatekeeper at MW.

He bullied legit competition for a brief by setting weight cutting record in the division but you can only do that for so long.
He is not making 185 anymore and now that he doesnt enjoy such a physicality advantage, I doubt he will be in contention anymore.

If he beats Burns especially by sub then he will indeed cross over from the hype train madness into LEGIT as fuck...but that remains to be seen..

Burns was the last man to rock the Champion...and his ground game is levels apon levels higher then anyone khamzats faced so far so its an intriguing match up but i do think its too soon for khamzat IMO

Costa 205 is just a discipline thing...it would be such a waste of a career for him to stay there cuz he cant get his shit together...he wouldn't be the first or last to have that happened though unfortunately...dude doesnt seem that professional about it ...kinda get Arona vibes from him...one day he'll just go to the muscle beaches of Brazil and never comeback

Its not a matter of discipline. Its that he is setting records of weight cutting in the MW division. The travesty is that Costa pretends to compete at 185 in the first place.

Obviously anybody trying to set records of weigh cutting in a given division will need the most strict discipline but the problem is that you are trying to fucking set records at killing yourself 24h before the fight in the first place.

The doggystyle ass hump of a KO’d opponent is still one of the most blatantly disrespectful things I’ve seen in any sport. Izzy can’t claim to be against bullying and then pull that shit lmao.
i give him a pass in my book. all the "im the king of bitches, im gonna make you my bitch" stuff that costa was saying makes it hard to feel bad for him.

they both got personal and petty, too bad israel is king petty

Who said hes trying to set records...?

The discipline im referring to is not ballooning up to 225 pounds plus between fights when fighting at 185lbs...it takes real discipline then ..

Sure getting the weight off is an act of discipline too but it's not the same as living life outside of camps at a 195/200lbs Costs year round..

I personally believe anything over 10 pounds of cutting begins to damage the body, (for all divisions excluding HW as you shouldn't be over the 265lbs limit IMO) and hurt performance on the back end...if Costa was my student/fighter he would never be over 210lbs MAX pre camp...and would likely end camp at 195lbs or slightly below, keeping his weight cut easy and painless to 185lbs while keeping him with likely better cardio...more power because hes fresher going in...and more mentally aware because he didnt just crawl out of a sauna making weight while praying to God not to pass out..

Weight cutting is old age tech adapted from singular art combat sports ( wrestling, kickboxing, boxing) but when you start mixing everything together big weights i believe do more damage then good especially over time and it doesnt really equate to a big advantage in the cage as theres so many ways to win and lose in there

Ain’t he sus? He’d probably been planning that hump throughout training camp. I’m told Paulo is a handsome man.

Costa holds the record for biggest in-cage weight in the MW division.

213lbs in fight night, which is fucking crazy.

Obviously if you are trying to bully your competition through weight cutting, you better have the most strict discipline but if he fails, I would not call that a lack of discipline. I would call it pretending to step into the cage bigger than literally everybody in the history of the weigthclass.

I was on the Borrachina-train until he started drinking too much red wine

beyond human understanding how someone not scared of eating bombs from romero was scared to go forward against pakistanya

He holds the record yes...but i dont think he's doing it for that purpose...

I think he does it cuz no1 is telling him differently and he wants to be the biggest guy out there...but its counter productive or even down right dumb to do it cuz if you miss you may not even get to fight...or like now he has to fight 205...

This is a coaching and personal discipline/attitude issue for sure...

Its crazy he can pull that weight cut off but id say thats more determination then discipline...imagine the mental strain or mental fortitude spent on cutting 28lbs 24 hrs before a fight with someone liKe Romero....its just an act of futility or cant be healthy over time

I am still on the Hype Train. Never gonna leave it.

Izzys hype train was even more real but most of you were talking smack about him that he will get knocked out by Whittaker, his skinny body would get chewed up by Costa etc. How can anyone see the flawless destruction of Brunson and not pick him to be the next champ is ridiculous.

He should've lost that fight to Romero, in my opinion.
