Potentially awesome, yet competitive fights we never got to see

Chael Sonnen vs Tim Kennedy...really close matchup, plus the trash talk would be interesting
--think Chael takes it

Jake Shields vs Rory McDonald
--if Jake Shields can avoid getting finished, i think he grinds out a decision. Don't think Rory would do as well as GSP

Lawler vs Lombard
-Would be interesting to see if Lombard could finish Lawler early, think Lawler survives and gets a late KO

Lesnarvs Miocic
-Think Miocic catches an overconfident Lesnar and finishes it early

Benson Henderson vs McGregor
-Would have to take Benson gridning out a submission finish

Anthony Johnson vs Overeem
-Johnson by explosive KO

Chael/Wand would've been cool

Lesnar would probably put Werdum down and Werdum would probably be ok with it, and then Lesnar would GnP Werdum out.

Lesnar would have also crushed Timmy in the first round.

I was pretty pumped for TJ Grant vs. Jacob Volkmann back in the day. Could have been a grappling wet dream or a muai thai clinic.

First fight lists Chael.

Second fight lists Shields.

Mayhem vs nick, before mayhem lost his mind

Aldo vs Pettis when both looked unbeatable.

My argument around that time was that Strikeforce should have done a MW grand prix to crown their first champion. This should've been one of the first round fights.

Chael Wouldn't Trash Talk Kennedy. He would probably give him the Bryan Stann treatment.

Timmy I could see but do you honestly believe Lesnar going to the ground w/ Werdum would be a good idea? lol Lesnar was a big scary guy no doubt but the skill discrepancy would be immense. Werdum prolly woulda lit him up on the feet and choked him out after a desperation takedown from Brock.

/insert gif of the fuckton of high level greco roman wrestlers falling right into a guillotine

you are aware saddam's iraq vs the ayatollah's iran fought a 10 year war with millions of casualties right?
That means it wasn't a fight that didn't happen/ fully play out.

Diego vs Alves. Was pumped for that fight. Instead we got to see Alves TKO Hughes.

It wouldn't have been competitive though. Chael would have taken him down and beat on him for 3 rounds.

Probably, but the tension during the weigh in and during the fight would've been awesome

Plus, you never know with Chael's sub defense :p
