Coming up, pot was generally established as Mexican brickweed, or commercial, which graded downwards through schwag (seeds and stems, plenty) and then dirtweed (seeds, stems, the smell of dirt, musty, maybe you'll find pebbles or an insect cocoon. Sometimes smells of ammonia if it's been sitting around long).
You paid 20 or 25 an eighth and 40 a ¼.

Then there was sinsemilla, no seeds, nicely transported flower, sometimes smelled of oranges; they packed the dope in citrus crates. A higher grade. Sometimes 40 a time but that was a friendly deal, usually fifty to sixty bucks.

Then there was what the kids call dank, we called it Kind bud. That was almost always 100 a ¼. So much skunky goodness you could smell it through two baggies from a block away.

When I was 16 I lived in Chile and my friends were already smoking "pot" they called it "Paraguayan"; it wasn't just weed, it was a bit of really crappy weed mixed with other synthetic things like glue for example. Luckily I never tried that crap.

Growing up in BC, I've had access to some of the best weed in the world since the 90s. Not sure if that's good or bad. Then Kush came along with 30%+ THC and the only strain I ever tried as a teenager that compared was real hashbud.

Going back to the mid 90s when I first got blazed it was mostly hashish or Jamaican weed. The hashish (red seal, gold seal, star bar, soap bar) was either from the middle east somewhere like Pakistan or Moroco. It was so fucking good. The weed would vary in quality and strength, from ok to really nice stuff that would get high as shit.

I remember the first time I got skunk. It was maybe 97 around that. I'd never seen weed so bright green but I could tell by the smell it was legit stuff. I still remember the first baggy I bought of it.

Mexican Red Hair was the shit when I was young, I remember very clearly getting high as shit for the first time smoking a blunt of that. BC started showing up when I was in high school(mid 90's), but we would get OZ's of red hair for $40 or $50 so it took time before I started with the good shit, you just couldn't explain it to me back then I was about that quantity lol.

When I was in high school, teenagers a.k.a persians were smoking hash. I smoked a little bit and didn't like it.
Some folks would tell me the male Marijuana bud is way better than the female Marijuana bud.
I never liked weed. It's a poor man's drug.
I'm more of an ecstacy user myself.
