I traveled to Portugal in 2019

There's a surf town called Nazare for big time surfers, but was fun for my family with 2 boys at the time who were both under 10

Nazare also had a bjj gym there that was pretty cool

In Jamaica I was eaten alive by Mosquitos. I was told to stop eating bananas. I did and the bites stopped.

In Spain, the guys were such conceited dicks, that the women preferred us tourists.

In Paris, the architecture is the most breathtaking in the world. The food is totally overrated. You have to spend big to really eat at the good places. Most places were crap. On my last trip right before covid, I no longer felt safe. Pickpockets galore.

If ya wanna see stuff in Paris or Rome that has insanely long lines like the Louvre, The Catacombes...or the Collosseum or Vatican, ya wanna get your tix ahead of time.

Catacombes is a two hour line no matter what. The others, prob the same.

In St Thomas you can walk the streets with an open container of alcohol. I only learned this in the final hour of our full day of walking around in the city.

Hawaii 7-11 is a subsidiary to Japan 7-11, not the U.S., hence why the 7-11s in Hawaii are really good.
Some of the best sushi I ever had in my life was at a 7-11 on Oahu. I couldn't believe it. Nothing fancy but damned good.

In Lisbon at 2 am I was approached by a guy who I thought was trying to mug me, but he wanted to sell me drugs.

He was friendly enough but goddamn son. Dude came out me from the side like an ambush.

I was also later told by locals that they are well known and that the drugs are of very poor quality.

I'm not a fan of Islam and in general muslim countries, but I was surprised when I visited Malaysia how women seemed more integrated into society than expected. I saw female cops and construction workers. Women in hijabs out and about living their life. They could be really friendly too. I once ran into a group of women having a picnic in a jungle trek who took of their hijabs because nobody was around and they invited me to eat with them when they saw me. I guess they have Islam-lite.

As opposed to Arabic countries where women wouldn't even look at you or engage in any small talk, because they're not allowed to talk to men. You barely see any women out in the middle east.

That may be changing in Southeast Asia because Saudi Arabia is pouring money into these countries to exert more influence and spreading their version of Islam. They are adopting more draconian laws. Indonesia is basically colonizing it's own indigenous population and trying to turn them Muslim. There is an ongoing conflict in Papua between the Indonesian government and it's indigenous populace that doesn't get talked about.

Jesus, when the fuck did I post that? I don’t even remember that happening.

(I've had the same experience many times)
I am going back again this year if the world does not turn to crap but many years ago when I visited Tokyo. People always rave about the standard Japanese food such as sushi and ramen (I love ramen but hate sushi). However, the one food that I thought was highly underrated was the ice cream in Japan. I can't remember where I went but that ice cream was the best ice cream I've ever had in my life until I went to Italy.

Side note, Italian bacon (or what they consider bacon) is so much better than any American bacon I have ever tasted.
Are you talking about mochi the little ice cream balls in floured dough? I believe green tea is the main flavor?

This is just a fun story about a place probably no one visits, and for good reason.

I was in Homestead, FL for a college baseball tournament about 5 years after Hurricane Andrew demolished the place. To say the locals were "out of pocket" would be an understatement. We were there back in the days when you could still transport a half oz. of chron in your sock through an airport, so we had smoke for the week.

On a day off, a few of us got high and walked to Walmart. Them southern Florida oranges were a revelation. We apparently ditched one of our teammates when we walked back to the hotel, didn't think anything of it, the hotel was right there. He came in 5 minutes later huffing and puffing. He was like "why the fuck did you leave me??? I got chased back here by a little mexican dude with a knife"

Later that afternoon we were going to meet up with some upperclassmens on the team who were down at the corner store and had bought some liquor. As we were walking up the street some very aggressive walking brother was coming towards us. As we're passing he makes eye contact with a grin, gives us a nod and a "sup", and keeps on trucking. The three of us were like wtf...that dude had an ice pik in his hand lol. 10 seconds later some Johnny Reb in an F150 hammers up to the stop sign right in front of us, jams on his brakes, looks both ways, takes a big fuckin whack off a handle of vodka and peels out down the main drag. wtf again. its like 3:30 in the afternoon but ok.

Finally we get to where our teammates are at and start telling them about what we've witnessed. But next thing you know, a crackhead rolls up to us on a bike, sketch as all fuck. He's like yo you need somethin, I can hook you up, what you want? And we're all "we're good bro" and he's like cool ya'll chillin and we're like uhhh I guess....so he jumps the fence to the auto shop next door, climbs up in a big rig and steals out the tape deck. Comes back, scales the fence again gets on his bike and says "good lookin out" and takes off. that whole sequence happened in about 10 minutes. I don't know dude. Call me sheltered but none of that is normal to me.

We all went back to the hotel and didn't leave the grounds again except for our games. Maybe it's not so Mad Max down there anymore but I'm sure as fuck not going back to find out.

Might be Hokkaido, they are famous for their milk ice cream.

I don't and can't speak for Muslims but I can tell you what I feel and experienced in both Singapore and Malaysia since I'm from Singapore.

First I should point out for those that aren't unfamiliar, Hijabs is only to be worn if the female is expected to be seen by men. Which actually is 99% of the time if you leave your house I guess.

However, a large number of the Muslims in Singapore don't wear Hijabs on a daily basis. Only those from very strict families still do and tbh, there aren't many in Singapore. This actually extends to other religions in Singapore not just Muslims, while still a large number of people are religious. I'm comfortable enough to claim that only a tiny portion follows strictly regardless of what religion. Here in Singapore, you only see them wearing traditional clothes on festive. As for Muslim, that's during Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Haji. The former is to celebrated after the fasting month of Ramadan, so I "think" it's similar to New Year. The latter is really religious, spiritual celebration.

As for Malaysia, I believe majority of them still wear Hijabs. Most still follow their religion strictly, at least in public, considering they have Religion police around. There are some states that have over 90% Muslims where there even are laws that male and female have to be seated at opposite sides of cinema, EVEN if they are a dating couple.

The middle part is for family, married couples. Right is for male, Left is for female.

But in some states/cities like Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang, where the population is slightly more diverse of race and religion, the laws are less strict but still applies to Muslims and can be caught by Religion police.

Overall, Malaysia is still more "open" than Middle East for sure. They have both Federal Law and Islamic Law.

Above is just my observation and limited knowledge, so if there are any mistake, I'm happy to be corrected by any Muslims/Malaysian here.

I'm not talking about mochi I am talking about regular vanilla ice cream. It was crazy how good it was, I haven't been to Tokyo since 2007 and I still remember how good that ice cream tasted.

I live in NY so it doesnt seem that crazy, but the way you make it sound, like it all happened in a few hrs. That's wild haha

Notice the approval when the women were taking off their hijabs yet what we interpret as modesty you see as draconian.

Just another fetishing colonizer with cuck fantasies who is frustrated to what is unavailable to him, like Fanon said :

"This woman, who sees without being seen, frustrates the colonizer."

What are you on about mate? Calling me a cuck and colonizer in one post? That's a new one.

I noticed there were varying degrees of strictness. Some would run and grab their hijabs when they saw me. Others seemed more relaxed about it. The women who invited me to eat with them didn't put their hijabs back on when they saw me. Maybe they didn't see me as a man lol.

Skip the tramway in Estes Park, Colorado unless you enjoy standing in line for hours.

Weird must have been the time we went. I went with my wife to the rocky mountains park and we just happened to see the Tram as we were leaving and decided to get on it. We got on quickly. I don't even think there was a line at all honestly.
