Post an Underrated Movie

Since we're going with the gangster theme. 'State of Grace' was touted as a gem that flew under the radar (because it came out around the same time as Goodfellas I believe). And it really is. It had a young fuckin Sean Penn AND Gary Oldman. Young Oldman was amazing. You guys should watch it just for his performance if you're a fan. It's not your typical Scorsese gangster flick though so don't go in expecting that.

But yeah, I had never heard of anyone ever mentioning this movie until I was bored looking for crime movies and happened upon it.

Hmm. You should check the stats. Those movies have sold at least triple or quadriple times more.

Imagine saying A Bronx Tale is as popular as Goodfellas and Scarface. Cmon lmao
 
Megamind <--- good movie but isn't as popular as it should be. i really think it's hilarious
Hot Tub Time Machine <--- same reasoning as above ^^
Star Wars Rogue One <--- rarely mentioned as one of the best star wars films, but I think it really is a good movie.

Also I think i'm one of the only people who thought Bronx Tale was just okay. I thought it was overrated actually. From the godamn poster I was expecting more killing and explosions. Instead it kind of devolved into an after school special. The life lessons were solid though. This one stuck with me..



We all know a fucking 'Louie'.

I love Megamind. My kids watch very little television. When they do bully me into watching a movie, I immediately suggest Megamind almost every time.

I think it got overshadowed by Despicable Me because they came out around the same time and are both about lovable super villains. I think Megamind is better, though, so it's a shame.

I tend to find a few actors I like and search thru their movies. Walken/Paxton are some great ones. Even if the movie isn’t that good they make it worth watching.

Dubbed or subtitles. May not be for everyone but I liked it.

Great thread idea I’ve been trying to rewatch older movies on my new projector and I’ve forgotten some of the lesser known ones.

I felt the same, I was in a local Borders books and music looking for Neon Genesis Evangelion dvd box set (yes I was a little nerd back in the day) then my friend walks in with girlfriend at the time who was from Brazil, Cecilia was her name beautiful girl. She was with her friends so I tried to be the fool guy and go to the foreign films to make myself look cooler. LOL. Then they recommended me City of God, bought it persuaded myself in thinking I'm getting pussy because I watched a movie they liked. Was baffled how good it was, even my grandfather who's 87yrs old liked it.

Die Hard 2 gets shit on all the time and most seem to consider it worse than Die Hard 3.

When was the last time you heard anyone talk about Lethal Weapon 2?
 
Deadly outlaw rekka, over the top j-gangster flick with a bazooka fight scene.

American me, best gangster movie and often overlooked because it focuses on non Italian or black people.

Drug war, brutal modern cop undercover story that has no forgiveness. Although the name is lamentably bad.

Bird people in China, charming funny adventure flick with beautiful scenery of China.

Sympathy for mr. Vengeance. One of my favorite movies that sets up a bleak dark tale that once it kicks in is unrelenting.
