The more obscure, the better. I'll start with Xchange (2000) starring Stephen Baldwin, Kyle MacLachlan, Kim Coates.

You're a legend if you've seen this movie. It's like the plots of FaceOff, Blade Runner and 6th Day wrapped into one. It could be remade today and it would be more relevant than 26 years ago.

I still think about this movie sometimes

It released in 1994 when I was 9 years old, and it popped in the VHS rental section while I was out shopping with my Dad. Based on the cover alone - robots with guns as arms - my mind was blown and I begged my Dad to rent it

I watched it and honestly it didn't disappoint. It did have badass looking robots with guns as arms

It also had this Guile looking motherfucker as the main badass protecting the weiner scientists and he was great

And it had these trucks in it which I thought were really cool as well

I remember it being too heavy on plot sometimes and pretty confusing but I was 9 years old. I should really try and watch it again sometime

Actually not a bad teen flick.

Never understood why this one didn't get more traction. 70's style cold war spy flick with an aging Hackman reminding us how great he is.

Never see this 80's horror flick talked about. Pretty good with a few nice death scenes that were original at the time. Also, Shooter before people knew him as Shooter.

I think I could go all day on this topic, honestly. My older brothers and I would absolutely chew through the local video store inventory, including all the terrible direct to video slop. My oldest brother was an old school punk rocker so my mom would always bring home whatever random shit she could find that had people wearing leather jackets or mohawks ( lots of post-apocalyptic stuff). I was into horror/monster shit so she'd bring home all the Rubber Monster movies. Middle bro was more into sci-fi/fantasy, so anything to do with wizards, fantasy, space, and magic was brought home to him, so we basically had all the bases covered.
