First off...is there going to be an interim title on the line...I could see this happening only because its McGregor

1) Cerrone...the guy has past beef with McGregor, just fought with minimal damage and loves MONEY

2) Diaz...hes been asking for this right, is always in shape

3) Eddie Alvarez...he just had a solid win, but a lot of fans were not impressed with his performance...stepping in against McGregor would put him back in the good grace with fans

4) Pettis...he is already scheduled for a fight...and he would love to erase his past performance against Alvarez

5) Michael Johnson..exciting striker vs striker matchup

6) Max Holloway...he wants to avenge his loss...gives him a low risk/high reward fight, while a loss doesnt really jeopardize his FW standing, as he would still be behind Edgar and Aldo at the moment

7)Faber...Faber is normally in fight shape...not sure what his out of camp fight weight is...but it should give McGregor a very low risk fight against a big nam

8/9? Khabib or Tony Fergeson...dont think they risk one of them ruining the McGregor hype train witout the title on the line...think both of these guys has a really good shot at beating McGregor

would love to see conor in there against cerrone or pettis!

Yes Edgar said he can not fight at the moment

At this point..Benson Henderson would have a better chance than Edgar at filling in :)

no real reason to list 8/9 opponents eh? it'll be diaz or cerrone.

#1 El Cucuy if it's not Edgar.

He's like a sherman tank. If Conor beat him I'd be seriously impressed.

They will pick Cowboy or Nate though. Both better match ups for him IMO.

Cerrone would be a dud of a fight though. He wouldn't be able to stand up to McG's firepower. It would be McG vs Poirier carbon copy.

I vote Frankie Edgar.

Just give it to Alvarez, eliminates him from fighting for the title again after he loses.

Pfirstly Pfister should make a pfine replacement..pfyakk yeah

People gives very little credit to Cerrone this days, yes he lost against RDA, but as you see, he made quick work of a dangerous opponent on Sunday, won like 8 out of his last 9, and is one of those guys that are actually ready to fight any given night.

Cerrone & Diaz two good replacements both with strong fan followings both hard fighters, but Cerrone the tougher for Conor to deal with.

Eddie just started winning in the UFC a minute ago and his sole intention would be to mate with Conor on the mat until he's moist; he being either one of the two.

Pettis just don't deserve "Showtime" lights right now needz to earn his way back to ppv

I won't bother with the rest they either otherwise engaged or not worthy of the payday just yet.

1. cerrone

has hype and is coming off a win. can sell a fight. not great takedowns, slow starter, gets hit, and can be finished

2. diaz

can sell a fight. not great takedowns. cant defend a kick. cardio and toughness for days. more dangerous than cerrone

3. pettis

most dangerous of the 3 in striking. his stock has fallen since his last loss
