With all the recent distraction this awesome fight has snuck up on us. April 14th this fight says war all over it. Who wins and do they fight for a title after this or need one more fight?

I'll believe this stuff about Gaethje "mixing in wrestling and becoming a more technical striker" when I see it. It hasn't happened yet. He used to do some powerful slams in the lower-level orgs, but that's about it as far as grappling goes. Brawling is a hard addiction to overcome.

I agree, Gaethje is coming from a third level promotion, he never fought first level fighters until he arrived UFC. Poirier by 2nd round KO or TKO

To be fair, Pettis has some nasty TKD kicks that can definitely test someone's chin (or liver)...he just hasn't landed any in years.

Love this fight, and both fighters, but Poirier is the one with the questionable chin. Gaethje's strong wrestling background, for me at least, cancels out Poirier's submission game.

So the question is, can Poirier avoid getting cracked and wear Gaethje down for a late TKO or decision, or will Gaethje overwhelm him with his constant pressure and brutal leg kicks.

Can't wait to find out!

On of funnest fights of year for certain to be bloddy n nor go past 2 or even 1.

Dustin likely touches him up with superior stand up skills. Gaethe would win if he took him down an used his actually really good grappling game but he never uses it he likes to turn his face to burger while throwing wild haymakers.
